General UnrealEngine3 Game FAQ - Updated: Friday, April 18th, 2008.

Issue 1: I don't want to put my maps in My Documents because the drive is too small... can I put it in the Unreal Tournament 3 folder?

Answer: Yes you can... in your shortcut for the game, right click, properties.

In "Target" -- this will point to the Unreal Tournament 3 game exe file. Should read something like "E:\program files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe"

Where "E:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3" corresponds to where you installed Unreal Tournament 3"

When you add the parameter -nohomedir the game will look in E:\Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps\ for your custom maps (and similarly CustomChars, etc.) where E:\Program Files\Unreal tournament 3\ is where you installed Unreal Tournament 3.

    Again, this will look like:

    E:\program files\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe" -nohomedir

Click okay -- and whenever you use that shortcut -- your "My Documents" folder will not be where UT3 will look for maps and stuff.
