How does this work at the Federal level? Do state laws override federal law?

It's still illegal under federal law.

Alcohol prohibition in the 30s ended the exact same way when New York gave the finger to the feds.

Technically, if there is a Federal law regarding something, it is THE law and State laws can only refine them down.

That said, the only reason that works is because the Federal Government will with-hold grant money that is to be allocated to the states if those states don't follow the rules. The state governments really, really want that money and so they comply. If a state is doing something that threatens the integrity (lol, integrity in America) of the Federal government and the nation, they send in the troops.

From what I understand, Obama is probably pretty pro legalization. So yeah, I doubt anything will come of it.

http://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2012/1...se-in-seattle/ Oh SPD, you can try...

SPD seized a bunch of my marijuana before I-502 passed. Can I have it back?
    No.
Also, they basically say "yeah it's illegal for right now be we don't really care if you do it".

Like three counties have done that so far. Mine in particular.

Cops are all "Yeeeahhh it's only a month away... we don't give a fuck"
