Though now I forget, when cortana mentions a ship touching down on a desert plateau, is she talking about the pillar of autumn or the t&r?

I'm cool with climate changes (something new to look at and all), but sometimes it's rather unnecessary. oh well, whatever. It's all just eye candy anyway.

Yeah, I did a research paper on deserts, they can be snowy...so, the MC is looking to icky green, might be the model you're using..is that the regular HD MC? or did you chnage the model a bit? if so...make him a little cooler green....>.>

This has gone far enough. Here is the Mirriam Webster online definition of "desert"
1 a : arid land with usually sparse vegetation; especially : such land having a very warm climate and receiving less than 25 centimeters (10 inches) of sporadic rainfall annually b : an area of water apparently devoid of life
Read the last part: "an area of water apparantly devoid of life." It's already been mentioned: snow is water. And since nobody knows about the precipitation Halo gets, nor if it gets any, there is nothing wrong with AOTCr being called a "desert level." (Don't forget, Cortana DOES mention something about the ring's weather systems possibly malfunctioning, or the ring was designed to have inclament weather, even if it wasn't enough to be more than 25 centimeters of rainfall. Snowfall is different than rainfall, since a small portion is water.) Now stop arguing about what CMT should call their levels, or face the wrath of Japanese cussing. (No, jcap, I wouldn't really do it, but it's sometimes fun to bluff. I'll think of something else.)
And now my on-topic post: Looks great, but I thought T&R was a night level. It looks kinda of bright to me.
edit: my half-dead brain didn't see everything in that picture. Now I see why it looked lighter than it actually was.

I think that redoing the SP is stupid. You should dedicate the time and resources to creating a custom one, not further modifying (and ruining) an already existing SP.

besides, I don't a couple of you is going to stop their determination from completing that mod. and that SP level they're gonna work on after their done with the SP recreation. is going to rock. Considering it's a new, cool, campaign map that looks and sounds like it's actually worth playing :)

The whole point of the start of T&R was that it was nighttime. That's why for at least that one level you have the night vision on your sniper, and part of the dialogue itself involves using the night vision. Make it daytime, and it's gonna make no sense whatsoever.

If any of their maps are dark for you you have a messed up monitor or something. THey are fine for me. ANyways the Snow look is different. Silinced SMG and other stealth weapons like someosted in the "What would you like to see in SPv2" thread.

I can't see where I'm going half the time with the brightness turned UP and a BRAND NEW MONITOR. They're too dark. And it's not just some of them, ALL the maps, with the exception of Fragment, are too dark.

I'm assuming that CMT isn't going to do much, if anything, to the radiosity properties of the new T&R. If that map is too dark, it's your problem because it will only be as dark as it normally is.

That looks very nice. But I'm not too sure about the green health bars, they would probably look a lot better if they were the same color as the shield meter.

Well.. there really isn't anywhere for them to go, seeing as how the map is in a huge canyon... as it isthe normal ATOC sky is just fog, no model/shaders at all.

As far as I know, no bsp changes other than shaders will be made. Getting imported bungie bsp recompiled without tool bitching is notoriously hard to do, especially if you try to keep portals intact.
Oh and is the inside of The Truth an Reconciliation (ship) being re-skinned. I think I've seen too much covenant purple in my days.
No real reason to - since purple seems to be the dominant color of the Covenant metals, we wouldn't really have any reason for reskinning except possible giving existing interior textures more detail. (Which in itself isn't too likely, all of Masterz' high-rez bitmaps shoot up mapsize like crazy.)
Then again, Masterz might have another one of his crazy (:p) ideas for this, so this isn't set in stone.

From what I can tell, the interior looks just like regular T&R with deeper bumpmaps or something. On a side note, b30 looks great, and a50 exterior looks okay. It isn't better or worse, but just different. The ground map could use an alpha channel for dirt or something.

I was trying to say that the repeticious covenant interior is getting boring and maybe they could changeit, I wasnt tryingto suggest that they copy them, just show them that the covenant interior could look better if its not purple.

Maybe the doors from Halo 2 should be used in the ship instead of the current ones. (or have something completely new and original.) The doors in H1 were too plain, and it was sometimes a pain to tell which ones were unlocked or not. Or make the doors' lights work the way they did on AOTCR/Two Betrayals, where you actually had to walk up to them to tell if they were locked or not.

I like the doors the way they are now. The ones in Halo 2 seemed less Covenant-like than the ones in Halo 1. But if CMT could create new ones that fitted the Covenant's style of building, then that would be good too. But in the end, it's all their choice.
