N U = POS <>
Probably just some bad porn that installed something, just inject penicillin into your penis. That will fix it. :downs:

same here, firefox randomly crashes, and flash videos freeze firefox for a good 20 seconds.
never used to do this, but the last few updates seem to have made it real shitty.

I seem to be hearing a lot of problems with FF3 on Windows...
Try a 3.1 beta.

where can i can that? the only thing i could find on firefox.com is an old 2.0.18 version. i mean, if that works then problem solved, but is there a 3.1 beta around?
E: not firefox.com... i mean mozilla.com

While beta 2 should come out the first week of December, you can get beta 1 here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.1b1/releasenotes/
I personally run the nightly build.

I got fed up with FireFox 2 crashing all the time, so I started using Google Chrome.
I'm using the developer version right now, and I've only crashed once in the last two weeks.

what? firefox is a pain in the ass for me and other peopleThat's for you, I personally love it, especially after my brother did something to turn it into 'Faster Fox.' I also like it's look, IE just looks blah to me.

Works perfectly fine for me and I'm on 3.0.4, also I have AdBlock. Other then that Add-on I have nothing else special about it.
Could it be vista? Seeing as I'm running on XP.

The problem is you nerds are using Firefox. I've been using Internet Explorer 5 for years now, and I have never once encountered a problem with it.

im not sure if its the same problem, but firefox doesnt load pages very well. it will say "page load error." i can usually fix it by refreshing the page, but its still annoying. hopefully this beta version works

Nope, running Firefox 3 on Vista... usually have ~15 windows open, some of which PDF documents, 4-5 tabs each (So doing the math... ~60 tabs at one time). Sturdy as a rock. 2GB Ram.
Extensions: Chatzilla, FireFTP, Firebug
If you're having problems... list your extensions and plugins... there might be a common factor which is destabilizing stuff.
Note: Firefox was acting screwie for a while after I switch to Flash 10... but it seems to be okay now.

internet explorer is the reason i switched to firefox. it was acting up on my computer, kind of like firefox is now, except it just refused to show pages even with my f5 spamming.
E: it seems like the 3.1 beta is holding up pretty well. all of my favorites and plugins are intact
as far as plugins go, im using freecorder, free download manager (is this the window that keeps track of all your downloads?), and alot of various media format plugins, such as divx, shockwave, and flash. i also had a program from real player that would let me download youtube videos, but firefox 3 killed it.

I've never had Firefox crash before unless because of an update. I use XP and use a lot of tabs. Not sure why someone would use more than three windows at a max though.

You're computer is doing something wrong, not FireFox.
The problem is you nerds are using Firefox. I've been using Internet Explorer 5 for years now, and I have never once encountered a problem with it.
You seem to be ignorant to the fact that FireFox is faster, more reliable, and more secure than a good set of other browsers out there. I haven't tried Chrome so I can't say much about that.
Could it also be a problem of people overloading their tabs with stuff their PC can't handle all at one time? Tack on everything going on in the background and it's like an all you can crash buffet.
Firefox seems to get more and more stable to me. FireFox 3 was a much needed change from FireFox 2's random shutdowns.

I get this randomly too and it pisses me off, especially playing youtube videos it'll freeze for like 15 seconds. It has to be a browser problem. The people on here who seem to have these problems' computer specs are completely different from each other.

I've never had any problems with any version of Firefox, on both XP and Vista. It could be your computer that's causing the problems.

Which doesn't really change the situation. If your components are low-end or not known brand name items, chances are that you're going to have a bad experience overall. Now if somebody has a monster PC that's having trouble with FireFox, I'd like them to post here with their updated PC specs.

My firefox runs like a champ, I usually have anywhere from 7-13 tabs open at once. My computer is lame, so I assume it's user error.
Oh, and if I can run FF3 on my Windows 2000 machine at work whilst doing the same things as I would at home, it just makes me think it's user error even more.

The most I've ever done was a FF browser on one screen watching a flash video tutorial (800x640) [With some other random tabs open, Myspace, Modacity, DSMTalk, Ect], and on my other screen I had an instance of Max and After Effects running.
Didn't even stutter.
Oh, and I was rendering a 720p movie in the background with Vdub.
You guys are just straight up crazy, I mean, I can't even open a tab in IE7 without the dumb thing stopping, thinking, and then taking me to that damn "You've opened a tab, pat yourself on the back" page.... :|

I worded that wrong. Firefox seems to only do that for youtube so there's some sort of FF3 - youtube problem. I would say google chrome is better but it still needs bugs with certain websites fixed, which is expected seeing it still is a beta.

What really pisses me off is when it says "Stop Script" or some shit that stops up your entire computer because the machine is being freaking slow. I mean, it's not really a big deal, but it's annoying Hell.

Stop browsing shady site with javascript that is trying to jack your shit up? Be happy that Firefox says, "Uhh, wut? :cop:" and stops it for you.
