When this game came out, I was expecting a half-assed mediocre first-person shooter that would bring shame to the series like what CoD 3 did.

I was clearly wrong.

The first 2 missions seem a bit annoyingly hard. However, when you start off as the russian soldier I got goose-bumps. The entire mission I has having so much fun. The weapon textures could use a bit more detailing, but the models are adequate. What I was really expecting was the Springfield sniper rifle. In Call of Duty 3 the springfield was insulted and destroyed, literally a box with a scope. In World at War the springfield has regained its former self, an extremely capable sniper rifle thats fun as hell to use. Some sounds needed a bit more beefy sound to them, but the springfield was spot on.

There was a thread concerning GoW2 or CoD: WaW, I would personally have to go with CoD instead. GoW2's campaign was fun, but online is absolutely terrible. CoD: WaW was fun all around. Although the zombie thing through me a bit off. My only other graphic concerns would have to be the minor model clipings that I see now and again. Everything else is very decent.

I give it a 9 out of 10.

I didn't trust this, after your thread on CoD4.
But I found no ninja text. Is it a sure pick up? Should I get it for Christmas?

Storyline needs a bit if work, the fact you ...
are captured, help prisoner and get rescued 4 times...is way too repetitive for me.

Good to hear. I already know that I'm probably going to get it for Christmas. Its not as good as CoD4, but hey, its new.

The campaign is pretty fun, but it is a WWII shooter, so the storyline sucks as usual. but that's not really the point of the game. GoW2s campaign is definitely better IMO, but multiplayer is pretty good. As teekup said, some sounds are kinda pansy, Shotgun sounds like a potato gun to me. Haven't finished campaign yet though so...

Haven't played it but I want to. I am a little hesitant to buy it though because I've heard its Call of Duty 4 sent back in time. Like its the same game with a new story.

I'm sorry but one person saying this game is good out of like millions telling me its retarded won't make me buy it. But you did intrigue me into actually playing it so I can give a decent review.

Well anyone who judges anything by what thier told, isn't very wise...
It's best to learn from experience than heresay ;)
Anywho, I love this game, I was expecting COD4 but ina WWII setting, but I got quiet the shock when I realized it was the same fun gameplay, with a bit of a WWII twist...
I mean who doesn't want a bayonette on thier shottie?
also loove the new perks, toss back, bouncing betties(not really new since it's basically a claymore but cool non the less), and my favorite, ordinace training..
The online play, is more than enough reason to pick this game up...Tanks, Artilerary strikes, and dogs OH MY!!
Haha, but it's definatly worth at least renting, then you can judge it..

Yeah, but when you have to spend $60 to experience it for yourself, someone else's opinion might come in handy.
