Tips:
Use either a BPR, a Needler, or a PP to take down brutes, (use a pistol for headshot if needed)
The brutes with the fuel rod cannon, and the gravity hammer, have an invincibility powerup that is used after their shields are down.
Use the SMG, or plasma pistol against buggers.
Always use the pistol against things you can headshot insta kill.
Don't use the pistol against shielded enemies, its futile.
When fighting jackals, use the pistol, shoot them once in the hand, then shoot them in the head to kill them.
When you are dying, remember GRENADES GRENADES GRENADES!!

Also, to sevlag, et.al., and anyone else going for Endure:
If you get a fourth person to join you, Lost Platoon works well. We ended up getting the achievement in just under 2 hours, with 20+ lives to spare. For the most part, we had two people circle in the hog, and two people on the main platform, with one of those two on laser duty. If we could, we would try to kill the chopper drivers without destroying the choppers themselves, as choppers are quite useful in the later sets.

When it lags up and quits it says all of you quit, when it says I quit. It isn't me. I checked my network and everything. It wouldn't make any sense for it to be JUST me. I'm sure I'm not helping. But it's not JUST me. Because I was fine when it was three of us. But as soon as a fourth person got put in, it started lagging me too.

But whatever. Fuck this achievment, and fuck my internet. I don't care.

Edit: ... Sorry, just, what a waste of time. Bugs me that I can't fix it because I have no idea what the hell is wrong. Nothing was plugged in to the router, it was a direct line, who knows... It's NOT the net code which causes this "problem". Networked campaign games run in a lock step synchronization model so that all clients stay in sync. That's why if ANY client is unable to keep up at full game speed, all the other clients will slow down. It's not lag, it's the actual game slowing down to compensate for players who can't keep it up...

Wtf, they're two totally different games, does it really boggle your mind that much?

With lock-step and deterministic game play, the engine doesn't have to worry about syncing tons of low level data. All it has to do, if anything, is just keep sending out updates on the player's actions and various object states (units, devices). No actual AI specific packets. Pretty good chance Call of Doodoo doesn't go this route in their networked campaign mode.

Halo CE did this same method (Xbox only) for it's multiplayer. It's why you couldn't jump into existing games because the engine had no support for updating a new client to the current state. It just started all clients at the start of the game with the same input (ie, random seed) and just updated each other with player actions (among a few other things) as the game progressed.

Deterministic game play can lift a lot of processing from the networking layer, but if one client starts to fail to update-in-sync with everyone else (ie, dropped packets) then EVERYONE has to slow down in order to keep a game pace which matches an update rate that slacking client can handle. That specific client may recover from this (brief) update issue, but the Halo 3 engine may not decide to play the game at normal speed until it's seen the connection level out (ie, no more dropped packets). If that or any other client repeats the above issue constantly, you'll see it through the entire game obviously since it won't level out.

This is why DSL rapes cable connections in this instances.

Also, I probably won't rage unless bullshit happens. Like stupid people. They happen alot. Which is why I don't play H3 as much. One of my XBL buddies has me on rage controlling techniques...and reminds me of the fact that I'm on my last working controller so I won't try to break it. On my 5th 360 controller now. Actually, it's 6th but the last one CAME broke. The right stick won't detect left/right movements :ugh:.

Just had a terribly disappointing attempt to get Endure with Admiral Bacon, Skyline, and ShadowSpartan. We got the the last wave of set 4 round 3 wave 5, then died. D:

I can say though that Skyline had one of the most spectacular Hero awards when he took out a Chieftan round by himself on a chopper, with most of the skulls on. We were all in flycam on the edge of our seats, watching him take the brutes out one by one. He was, of course, the last one to die at the very end, but he didn't have a chopper.

On Legendary Solo Alpha Site, I died Set 1, Round 1, Wave 2. The second wave spawned 2 Hunters and a bunch of camo Brutes. I couldn't even get to the RL spawn.

After two painstaking hours we managed to get the elephant to the part where the scarab damages it. He decided to start shooting the elephant for god knows why, which then caused it to go into a loop of Dare and Vergil dieing, reverting to checkpoint which was just before, and them dieing again, and so on. Is it just coincidence that the second (and last) time I tried to get Deja Vu without him, we made it? And the exact same thing goes for Endure. First time I tried it with Advancebo, we lost. Second time I tried it without him, and we got the achievement.

I thought Alpha Site was the fastest. All the enemies funnel into a central location and it's really easy to rack up kill multipliers. No vehicles, though.

I need to brush up on firefighting. I went in completely cold (haven't touched it in 6 months) and wasn't sure where the weapons would spawn and didn't remember much about the scoring system. Spent the whole match just driving the Warthog around, trying not to flip over.

I could have seen myself really liking this mode if not for some of the more annoying skulls (black eye, catch), not being able to start at a later set, the difficulty in getting people together to play, and the fact that there's no end. They could also use some objectives and counter-objectives to mix things up.

It was about that when we did it. I recommend Lost Platoon for the vehicles. You don't want to be on foot when the set 4 chieftains come around. Just grab the warthog and hijack some choppers, and sit at a nice distance to pick them off.

In either case, there were 3 hammer chieftains in that encounter. I went back to the film and there were no FRG wielding brutes. Just those 3 hammer chieftains and some jetpack brutes. We were also at the start of Set 2...
