If you're going to just the concert then its hanging out, if you're going somewhere before/after its definitely a date. It can also depend on how you're treating her. If you're being very close to her, and kind of flirtsy, then it can mean a date. If you're doing a strict friends hang out then yeah.
Don't get caught in the friend zone if you like her, and if you're true friends she'll understand, even if she doesn't like you back.

I call it a date. If you buy her ticket, without expecting her to pay you back for it, it's a date. For sure.

Well, assuming you've never taken her to a concert of any sort or have done things mono y mono with her before (ie, gone out to eat) where it was considered by both parties to just be a "friends thing", then yeah, sounds to me like it was easy for her to consider it something more. If you like her but don't consider this a date like thing while she does, just tell her you're wanting to try some more specialized socializing to see if things have the chance of working (just not in those words, in your own). If you like her but don't feel you want to go down this road (dating her) now or ever, just tell her that it isn't anything serious like a "date", just a friendly get together (no pressure, like you said).
Just my 2 cents. You're the only one who really knows her and thus how to take what's been said her into a context which would suit her in response to her thinking it was a date.

Just going to a concert with a girl friend, no biggy. Hanging out.

Still dude, don't get caught in the friend zone if you like her. You'll regret it later if she's going out with some other dude and you still have feelings for her.

If you're questioning it, it's just hanging out.

You obviously see it (or are trying to make yourself see it) as just hanging out, so that's what it is.
By the usual definitions though, it certainly stinks of date.

After concert, ask if she wants to get drinks/dinner some time. Then you'll know. Problem solved. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, expect nothing.

Is this the first thing you've asked her to? I think its also important how you asked her, and what her response was. If you end up 'going out' with this girl, when you look back this could be considered the first date. If it was me I'd play it cool, its just two friends hanging out, if you happen to make out, so be it :) Try not to analyse it too much, we can see you have feelings for her, so if you set your heart on it being a date, and turns out it was just hanging out, you'll feel real bad.
If, this is your bosses girl, then it has to be a date, seriously rams bout time you and her had a date :P
