To be honest, I don't like the way the MA5C display turns yellow, etc. It would be better, in my opinion, if it flashed blue and read (like the ammo meter does when low) when you have say, 12 rounds left, and it turned completely red when totally empty (during reloading and when there is nothing left to reload with).

I accept your apology. also, i think that the blue-yellow-red light scheme is awesome. it really helps, i dont even have to look at the ammo counter to know that im almost out, because i can see the color out of the corner of my eye

yea that's useful, but i hardly ever look at my ammo counter anyways, normally i fire until my weapon clicks and just switch to me 2nd weapon, and whenever i'm not fighting, i instintively(however you spell that) reload all my weapons, thus keeping them at max amount of ammo possible.

anyways, the new screens look sexy, i like the beta 'watermark' thing. even though it serves little actual purpose... i dont think leaks have been a problem. build id entifacation is a cool thing, even though it doesnt effect the end result.

I'm going to get shot for saying this, but the MA5C looks... disapointing in game. If the top casing was the same color and shined the same as the old AR in the picture under 6/9/07, then it might be better. That's my two cents. I'm sure it'll look amazing in H2V though.

I never said I wanted it to be like halo 3, where did you guys get that idea? I said I wanted it more like the AR in the picture under 6/9/07, in other words, I wanted it to at least match the quality as the one in the multiplayer maps.
And the numbers in the gun's LCD are a little too big. In every picture, the corners of the numbers are practically touching the outer outline. The LCD screen looks really cluttered right now.

Masterz, Lag, take pics of stuff on DAYLIGHT levels so people can properly see the shine of shaders and stuff. That level is just fucking gay. Try taking shots from my fav level, a30 - Halo, or something else in the light.
Also, AR's smoothing needs fixing around the screen and on the slider lever grip

I don't care what you people think, that old CMT ar's shaders were shit and nulled out all detail, made it look constantly wet or greased up or made of velvet. Not even the halo 3 AR is like that. The halo 3 AR shows definition between what should and shouldn't shine.

I don't mean I want it to be decreased in size dramatically, just so that the 'corners' of the numbers aren't touching, or seem to be touching, the bright outer outline. Maybe 95%-97% of the size that it is now.

back on subject: i agree with delta, i think the numbers SHOULD be a bit smaller. also, dano is right, the friggin pics were taken on friggin T&R, the lighting sucks, and i hate silver weapons, it's retarded, it makes me think how if the stupid UNSC can afford to make weapons out of silver, then they could've gave me better shielding, armor, weapons, and other crap.

I always seem to forget that Halo is running on an out of date engine....

Nice. Muzzle flash needs to be bigger though, and the "muzzle brake" effect is all over the place. Kinda like Counter Strike. It's not physically possible.

Not necessarily. It depends on how the catch on the weapon works. Usually there is some mechanical device that triggers when the last round leaves the chamber.

I would like to see a Brute dedicated video, showing various scenes fighting Brutes. I'm not trying to force you guys, but I think everyone would appreciate a Brute vid. Is it possible to fix the way the marines leave the passenger seats of a tank? In the original Halo, they got off the tank a few seconds after you did, but in Spv1, they never get off. In SPv2, can you make sure that they get off the way they used to in the original? It can sometimes be a pain to fight 30 Covenant with 4 Marines....

oook me and halo king are going to make a analysis of the video(based on all that we currently know) of everything that we've saw, that way, everyone wouldn't be asking so many friggin questions, mmmk? mmmk. it'll take a day or so, but for now, here are some comments of my own: ok 1) great job masterz, you took my advice when i asked to change the AR's tracers, iono if me asking really helped or not, but meh. 2) what difficulty was that played on anyways?.....it didn't look that hard to kill the elites, but masterz seemed to have some difficulty with it...... 3) the animations for the AR should be half a sec, or maybe even a full sec faster

Or will time constraints and ammunition compatibility issues keep this barred out? Since it's not multiplayer, there shouldn't be any bugs that would aggravate gameplay.

Second: I didn't see any tracers, what do you mean?
Third: none of the AR's animation look like they're a full second long to begin with. Do you mean make the reload take longer?

oook update, er......i heard that masterz is gonna make a bigger video, but that's just another rumor, not even sure if it's true, needs confirmation. Sides, this is just like haloking's thread of collective info, but this time in video form and it might keep the newcomers quiet, don't want too much spam here. and er......i don't really know, i'm bored, no one really interesting to play with on the MP maps, and yea, i'm stuck here at my dad's house with nothing else to do for another week, all my friend are 40 miles away from here =*(
and er....i've already saw that dole, CAD showed it to me a couple weeks ago. anyways, the reload doesnt look fast enough, you'd think the MC would TRY and reload faster with a whole army of covie and flood on his ass, but yea, whatever.

I don't think you understand that 0.5-1.0 secs is a long time when it comes to animations. So in terms of being 0.5-1.0 secs faster, master chief would be lightning fast, like the creepy shiny twitching spartans in SPV1, especially if it was decreased by a whole sec.

CMT will receive no special treatment; they will have to wait for the scripts to be released as with the rest of the community. (Probably post-SPv2, unless they choose to wait)

The melee and firing animations are perfect. The ready animation is almost perfect, but the butt of the rifle comes too far onto the screen. The reload is apparent, the origins are due to be tweeked, and the grenade throw is too fast.

True, very true... I think the grenade was too loud, no offense, in SPv1, and the throw looked wrong too (again, no offense). As far as I can see, they need to tweak a bit more and then they should be able to finish. Right?

The carbine was probably the best covenant weapon in H2, you just had to know how to use it. 5 headshots will take a brute down on normal, and it has a high rate of fire.

Because it shoots radioactive bolts and not plasma or charged particles. it essentially uses the same ammunition as the Fuel Rod Cannon, on a much smaller scale.

I can use it fine, I've beat H2 on legendary. I also used it in the H3B a fair amount as well. In H2 MLG Players prefer the BR to the Carbine, so I don't think you are correct in it being the better weapon. The whole Idea it shoots actual projectiles is dumb too. What made H1's covie weapons so much fun is that they were not the same thing as a human weapon. And the clip, don't get me started about the clip. Why does it shoot into your face when it's depleted. I hate the whole concept of the gun, you'll never see the carbine in spv2, and you'll probably never see it in our h2 mods if we decide to use the engine.
Edit: Each spiker you see in the game has 4 nades included. However, if one of the spike nades have been "thrown" by the brute who was using, it, it will be missing that nade when you later pic the spiker up.

I prefer Battle Rifle over the Carbine, since its head shots are devastating and it has the grenade attachment. You wouldn't really expect the Carbine to have a Fuel Rod attachment, would you?
Are we going to be able to pick up ammo grenades for the Battle Rifle (BRG) and Spiker (Spike Grenades)?

Anyways, I said that the carbine was the best covie weapon. I still prefer the battle rifle, even though it was a pussy long range weapon that did very little damage. A 3 round burst from it did around the same damage as one shot from the carbine. The reason why I used the carbine more in the campaign was because bungie was a fucking idiot to only give us a max amount of 108 rounds to carry. WTF is 108? It's such a random number. And why did they even give us 108, when the AR use to have 600?! It doesn't make any sense. But still i liked the BR more than all the other weapons. But as I progressed through the game, it became increasing clear that you can't even find the 108 rounds that goes along with the ammo. So bungie only gave us 108 rounds and expected us to find human ammunition for it when raiding alien environments. Yeah thanks a lot bungie. So I was like fuck that, and started using the carbine instead, since ammo for that was everywhere as long as covenant was around, and they always are. Sure theres a lot of BR rounds when you come across flood, but all human weapons are shit against them.

Except for the shotgun. Not that its even needed anymore when you have the sword, and bruteshot. The sword also sucked since it only lasts for 5 secs, and its way overkill, I would rather exchange the extra damage done by it for more energy life. However, the bruteshot is the "infinite sword". The byonet can kill most flood with one hit and it has unlimited use. I was carrying the brute shot long after I ran out of ammo for it. So yeah, the shotgun really has no use anymore when against flood when you are inevitably going to run out of ammo for that too. And we all know how hard it is to find more...
And covie weapons aren't shit against flood. I guess you havent tried using the plasma rifle or plasma pistol. It's a lot more ammo eficient than pumping a whole magazine into a single enemy. And sometimes those enemies get back up.

ok....in a attempt to bring this thread back on subject, about the brute shots and spikers(i already searched for the answers to these questions, didn't find the answers), 1) will the spiker be reloaded from the top like on the MP maps or from the bottom like in the h3b? 2) will the bruteshot have 6 nades in a clip or 4? (the ingame screenshots that teh lag took was a long time ago,even before the delay of SPv2, wondering if it changed)

CMT will receive no special treatment; they will have to wait for the scripts to be released as with the rest of the community. (Probably post-SPv2, unless they choose to wait)
How else then will they fix the AI grenade-throwing issue?
And if CMT has the source scripts for some levels, the SIII's would be able to toggle camo as they advance through the map.

2. No, they can't. Once you activate camouflage on a unit (with a script), you cannot revert it.
Even if they could do such and such and fix this and that with scripts, that doesn't mean we are obliged to hand over the scripts to them just because they're CMT.

The gun should be angled upwards more so that it looks like MC is hitting people by bringing down his forearm, kinda like a backhand, but with the bottom of a closed fist. The speed and damage should remain the same. The way it was in SPv1 didn't look like it had any power behind the blow, since it was just bringing down the bottom side of the silencer onto someone's head with a short weird swinging motion. I didn't really care though since I barely used the SMG in SPv1, since the silencer turned me off. I will use the un-silenced one though...

The melee was basically lowering your gun down then bringing it back down. I don't see how an elite can bleed uncontrollably by just lowering your SMG...

The SMG was the Hunter hunter. Personally one full load of it will take it down. And it doesn't matter if the butt is in the air or not. Come on the melee is perfect. It is more of a hammer strike than a backhand because he brings his hand up then down with great force and speed. So in reality that animations is down right sexy. FANCY= bungie's halo 1 pistol animations(aka retarded)
PRACTICAL= CMT/Zteam's shotgun animation, (badass smack in teh face)
IMPRACTICAL= CMT spv1 smg, plasma pistol, plasma rifle. and heres WHY
smg: you quickly lower the weapon. sure, its effective if your enemy is suckin your cock, but not if theyre attacking you from the front.
plasma rifle: same as above
plasma pistol: looked cool, but it was a SLOW punch. and a badly aimed punch at that.
NOTE: im not trying to offend the animator. the animations were good, but not realistic, and have since then MUCH improved.

y'know what?? What if the Silenced SMG and the SMG had different Melees?
Silenced SMG: Would do a strong jab. With a slight pull back of the arm and than a spontanious force with the barrel to the designated target.
SMG: Would be sort of a strong "Jack-'em-up" move by moving the gun to the upper left to the lower right like a slash with the gun's handle OR it could do that, and stop half way on the gun's way back and strike like CMT's Pistol Melee. Therefore, it would look a tad more critical.
That sounds kickass...

I liked the chaingun's melee. There was a sound of beer bottles rattling around. Or in this case it would be fuel canisters.

maybe. some of the halo ce players are such weapon fanatics that they could possibly have used a chaingun.

The biggest gun I've ever used was a .223 rifle......I really don't know where you would go to try out a chaingun though.......

WOW ok you guys misinterpret each other,
FANCY= bungie's halo 1 pistol animations(aka retarded)
PRACTICAL= CMT/Zteam's shotgun animation, (badass smack in teh face)
IMPRACTICAL= CMT spv1 smg, plasma pistol, plasma rifle. and heres WHY
smg: you quickly lower the weapon. sure, its effective if your enemy is suckin your cock, but not if theyre attacking you from the front.
plasma rifle: same as above
plasma pistol: looked cool, but it was a SLOW punch. and a badly aimed punch at that.
NOTE: im not trying to offend the animator. the animations were good, but not realistic, and have since then MUCH improved.If you want to see slow punches, go play Marathon.

On another subject: Why would Samus start off on a damn chaingun. Completely went off subject...possibly happened because......he was drunk, mb? So yeah, we know there's no chaingun in Halo CE created yet.

Why isn't the porta turret getting any love? I would actually prefer that over the chaingun, and it might even have infinite ammo... At any rate, those two guns are the same to me.

Yeah, I got that from my dad. I had asked him what they showed him in the Marine Corps, and thats similar to what he showed me. It allows for hitting multiple times =p. Anyway, I quite liked it myself. I am going to reanimate the smg, and I will try and get them that way again.

Unless you can concoct a system of statistics and potencies that would distinguish it from being a carbon-copy of the Machine Gun, there isn't much of a reason to have it.
1. I am going to reanimate the smg, and I will try and get them that way again.

3. Those were the older version, as I had taken the very beginning out, smoothed it some, fixed the weird end, and made a few more changes, but that is the gist of it.

Yes, the reload itself was rather drab quality, but I liked that the receiver of the magazine wasn't dispensed and that the magazine actually had something to clip into rather than simply onto.
The anims in MP were merely a take on the H2 reload... they were good quality, yes (except the empty chamber reload looked a little flimsy), but if the idea behind SPv1's reload was revisited I'd just be the happiest little 6'4" boy in the world.
2. *Preferably in Microsoft Word. OR ELSE.
3. So essentially, it'll turn out like the original AR melee?
Also concerning the SMG, add detail to the model... PLEASE. It has the potential to look as good as Snaf's Mac, but right now it just looks like someone gathered a pile of dog turd and molded a machine pistol out of it.

That's actually how I pictured the H3 AR melee to be before Bungie released the Public Beta. I thought it was going to be kind of a cross between the two Shotgun melees, but it ended up just being modified BR anims.

You don't have to apoligize for anything. :P
But to let you know, the Machine Gun currently uses that system that is described there: pick up collapsed turret --> setup the tripod --> mount the gun emplacement or destroy the stand --> pick up the remaining gun as a handheld weapon
Given, a Chaingun could replace the Machine Gun outright, but work on the Machine Gun began over a year ago; it shaped up to be a great piece of work and it would be a shame to deprive such a piece of content of use, especially considering it it wasn't in the release candidates.

Gatling guns, or any type of rotary gun, are not chain guns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaingun#Chaingun_differences_from_Gatling_guns). I wish more people knew this :/
