anyone else heard of this game? its all about a detective that solves crimes in a 1940s setting. theres driving and shooting and stuff too. i make it sound bad, but the videos on rockstar's site make it look amazing.

to me right now it looks like the atmosphere and law enforcement side of mafia 2 mixed with the gameplay elements of red dead redemption, plus a BAR at some point. im completely excited about it. anyone else?

Since almost everything R* touches these days turns to GOTY-eligible gold (excluding Table Tennis), I've had my eye closely on this one since I first heard that they were involved with the project

Any game which does its best to challenge the conflict = violence thing that has become the unwritten rule of game design is guaranteed to pique my interest, and from everything I've seen, this looks like it could be, at best, a massive landmark not just in the genre but for gaming in general when combined with those OHGODIJUSTCAMEALLOVERTHEDESKOOOOHHH facial animations.

Or, at worst, it could be an underwhelming mess of a failed experiment, but from what I've seen and read, I strongly doubt that this'll be anything but excellent.

(surprised there hasn't been a thread about this already)

It's cool because the VA's faces are pretty much recreated in the game: tech behind the game (http://www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/#%21/video:6341).

:O

So they are releasing special versions of the game to certain vendors when you preorder that contain "extra" missions, for example Naked City. My view on it, is instead of being able to get extra content, I am missing out on content, so I hope further down the line you can purchase them or they become free.

I cant wait though, LA Noire and Portal 2 are my top buys, theres like no new games out right now they are decent I wish Portal 2 hadn't been pushed back.

It's DNF...it's not "released" until it's released :p.

e: While the extra content sounds pretty cool, I fucking HATE how there's four DLCs spread out over four stores (a 5th if you include a that blah blah blah tshirt). I'm not falling for this trap and pre-ordering. I'll take my chances buying a used game, along with the DLC if it comes out later or resort to my devkit for "stuff".

Pffft, trying to sap my hard earned monies, even though the game looks good. Now if there was a drivable Turismo (http://gta.wikia.com/Turismo) then I'd probably throw down the money to buy it (brand new), nay, pre-order it.

Looks like Rockstar broke up with Team Bondi (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/310266/news/rockstar-and-team-bondi-relationship-badly-damaged-report/). I wouldn't return their calls either, heh

I hope that guy gets shit on by every publisher. The problem is that there are probably still good people work under him.

i support rockstar breaking off with team bondi, but does that mean the rockstar la noire pass thing on xbl market place is invalid now?

Kornman00

Since it's making them money which they had to use to get Team Bondi off its ass, I'm sure it will continue to be valid

According to G.I., Bondi have "entered administration which means their assets are being sold off and they're looking for a buyer."
