modelled by Gx shadow, i tweaked the model a bunch and reuv'd some parts, like the handle and stuff, just so I could get better quality out of them, before I skinned it. Well, in between skinning I actually ran into uv problems so fixed em along the way. Though, the handles are pretty low res compared to the rest, just because of uv space. Nothing much I can do about that other than reuvwing that whole section, and making the gun lower res as a whole, to make room. Tis at 1024x1024, Has taken me about 2 days. Enjoy!

lighting makes it MUCH better.

I still hate how blocky that handle is.
I'm starting to see a "style" of yours imerging (especially the rough texture on the dark and metal areas)

I like the bayonet much better than bungies as it actually looks like it would cut you instead of thump you.

I showed him a pic of it before with slightly crappier lighting and he said it looked godawful :P

Oh, I forgot to mention Con started skinning it first, he did the blades basic texture, but didn't have the time to continue, whereas I took over from where he started. So yeah, sorry about that, I did about 95 percent of the skin. I improved apon what he allready had they're, darkened it up, sharpened, gradiented, painted more colour into it with some rust and stuff. I would have just restarted the blade, but he did a nice job of its starting texture so I just continued on from there.

Nice! Looks like the H2 model. But the base of the blade needs to be a little bigger tho, but all around great job.

So far it's only the blade that looks CMT-like and the whole top half of the gun looks pretty good.. But it's early days, and that blade looks damn awesome!
Can't wait to see the final model

the brute shot is a tad hard to top as creativity goes. In general, most covie weapons are, but especially the brute shot, so I don't think there are too many new things you can add to it and ratain the whole covie atmosphere.

I like it though, looks nice, maybe it could make it into a Multiplayer map one of these days.

We have no plans for it in spv2, so no. Besides, Lightning I think aleady skinned that for h2ce.

Make the holes in the firing mechanism (The circle thing above the blades, where MC puts his hands) have alpha; you should be able to see through them.

Use at least three-point lighting for presentation (or just be lazy and use an ambient light), gosh. Sure that render is expressive and all, but it doesn't show much.

Sure, i usually dont do 3 point ones because I thought it might confuse the bump maps, seeing as light is coming from different directions I figured it would have diluted they're effect. Though maybe I should put an ambient at the back behind the gun. When I make a new one I'll just edit that post.

I think the blade on this needs a bit of toning down and more silver, same shade as the silver side parts.

Btw, I'm skinning the new Spiker, seeing as a new more accurate model has been made D: Should be done within the week, though I've gotta do the new AR too, when Doom want's to fix it >_>

TBH, you probably won't see that in 1st person, and you probably won't get that up close without seeing the blade close-up first in gameplay. Nice skin dane. Good work. The shaders on page 2 look really good on this weapon.

and yes Sunray, thats what I meant, that part is a bit blurry :( Thanks for pointing that out to those who asked. Can't do much about that, but at least it's still better quality than the halo 2s one IMO :P

I never understood the BS melee.
If the handpiece is a wheel set in a revolving socket, the MC shouldn't have to swing his hand up; his right hand should just be pretty much punching out. That, and his fingers are just sitting on the wheel, they're not actually grabbing into the holes (no innuendo jokes about that last clause :mad:).
