Am I the only one really disliking all the changes going on with the DC Animated Universe? Changes like the simplification of the art style and the lighting, as well as the drastically altered appearances of characters such as The Joker and Two Face?

Yeah they are trying to make two versions. One that is meant to appeal to adults, and one that is supposed to appeal to kids. Honestly, if your an adult and like Batman, just read the trade paperbacks. They are excellent packages that tell great stories.
Some of the animated movies were excellent too though. Mostly because they focus on the only villain that matters, aka the joker.

Batman The Animated series Joker (mark hamill, which also transferred over to the new Justice League) was by far the best batman presentations ever. Seriously, Mark Hamill is insane to give up the role as The Joker after Arkham City.

Fan of the animated series agrees with that.

Who's buying Arkham City today? Insane media hype is gonna make me lay down 60 bucks in just a couple of hours. I haven't seen a game with reviews like this since the original Bioshock.

Mark Hamill is the best. He was the best voice in World War Z.

I preordered it and got it at the midnight launch. Won't be playing it for a while though :-3

Thought I was going to buy it today, but ran out of time to visit GameStop. Will buy tomorrows most likely.

Oh shit, I just realized that this thread existed...I thought the comment was just deleted.
@TVTyrant: yeah, the comics are great, but I also enjoy watching it animated. They should have just kept the art style from Batman: The Animated Series exactly the same, because it was perfect.
@TeeKup: Straight up. Mark Hamill's original Joker in Batman: TAS was the best one. I don't like the revised visuals they used in the Batman/Superman Adventures.
I need to get Arkham Asylum and play that before I get Arkham City. Definitely on my "must-buy" list of games which, by and large, has gone unfulfilled these past couple of years.

Yeah you're probably right. It was still an epic ending.

bought it for PS3, loved it.
As much as I would have loved to enjoy it on PC with 1920x1080 maxed out graphics, I refuse to deal with GFWL.

Can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. New trailer is amazing.
I have just about the whole plot figured, except for what the fuck catwoman is supposed to do in it. Seriously, I cannot figure that out. Oh well. Can't wait for July 20th.

hey nice to see others also watched the DC Animated Originals.
I really liked Batman: Year One and Under the Red Hood, but goddamn why did Kevin Conroy not lend his talents to those movies =.=
Going to see The Dark Knight Rises today now that crowds have dispersed and freed up good seats and parking spaces.
