View Full Version : SPv2 Suggestions Thread

Hey all! Its me again, but this time, i bring SUGGESTIONS! You are all free to do the same. Mine are:

1. Somehow script/code into the game that the first time you pick up a weapon, the hud would have a delay while it collects the necessary information and shows it on your HUD.

2. In the new Main Menu, or possibly a whole seperate one, have a few new options such as a setup like this:
CMT SPv2 Campaign
Z_Team Campaign
ONLINE
PROFILES
SETTINGS
CREDITS
EXIT

Keep in mind, these are all suggestions and are in no way official. Feel free to post.

Zteam has nothing to do with CMT, there's just members of Zteam who happen to also be on CMT.

My suggestions:

Change the tint of the sniper rifle lense to a dark red to match the LCD display below it. How it's just white in SPv1 looks just weird, like plastic wrap.

Get rid of the logo on PoA doors, as stated before.

Make last pelican on 'Halo' to land in the normal spot and fix how allies do not enter the pelicans after each rescue part.

Get rid of all yellow hogs and replace them with gauss turret hogs, or replace yellow hog turret so that its actually a rocket launcher and add more gauss turret hogs overall in campaign.

Mangoose maybe?

Redo fp model for anti-air missle launcher

Make marines follow player correctly after rescuing Keyes in TaR. The dropship used to escape was also invisible in the cutscene.

Turn rear gunner of pelicans around and move back the pilot's seats a little from the controls

BR and SMG sounds could be heard from a mile away while chaingun sounds can only be heard when standing 10 ft away. Many custom sounds caused music to loop or stop.

The warthog that drives by in PoA cutscene is invisible.

The cutscene for when MC finds the video in 343GS has him holding a BR, then AR, then BR again.

Doors that lead into service hallways in the levels PoA and The Maw uses the low res texture that doesnt have the see through grating.

Plasma orb attack on Covy dropship was way too powerful, way too fast a fire rate, and way too big a splash damage.

Make ammo clips for BR and SMG that player can pick up near dead marines. Basically, make more ammo spots for them.

I found the yellow markings on the dropships to be too bright. Grey that down a little.

Dropship that crashes in AotCR has yellow markings, but the wreckage that the player finds later on doesnt have any markings.

Give player chaingun/porta turret earlier on in The Maw. Get rid of smoke that trials out of the warthog during the escape part, it blocked up the screen.

The Maw has this annoying fog that messed with the textures of distant objects. The glass didnt break during the cutscene where Cortana starts the countdown.

Fix Spartan II animations with twitching and lightning fast turning. Spartans are fast, but not that fast.

More things I cant think of right now.

*these are just suggestions and in no way am I nagging for these things to be changed/fixed. Sorry if I sounded a little blunt.

Some of your suggestions were a little to blunt. :) I wonder if mine is???

Suggestion:
My suggestion is to keep the apparition in. (please correct my spelling on the underlined word)
Lol but I know it won't happen. It was fun needling everything in sight.

@ Halokings suggestions.

Well while that sounds cool I would still like it that I get my readings immediately. Also the fact that its the first time only would kinda bet pointless really.

Im not sure if the second one would be plausible. I mean wouldn't CMT and Zteam make the level names the same? Also Onlines not really that universal as some people actually use LAN to play Multiplayer (GO LAN PARTIES WHOO!)

It's not that big of a problem is it? Half the time your not even staring at the door. And who knows maybe CMT already made a new door?

Huh? Turn them around? Wouldn't that make em face the inside of the Pelican? Well thats what would happen when I play the campaign......

Music issue was already in orginal Halo if I'm not mistaken.....
And if I'm not mistaken they put a new custom gun to replace the chaingun (Portable Turret?)

I generally just skip the cutscenes so no comment on this.

Fixed this. The wraith cannon is now replaced with 4 smaller turrets.

Not everyone uses BRs and SMGs. I'm waiting for shotgun ammo ya know.

Never had any problem with the smoke......how damaged did you get your warthog dude?

Your forgetting the IIs are being replaced by IIIs

Really? They are great fun...but make sure you have plenty of room and/or air conditioning.

Also, I lithe glass on the Maw is supposed to break. In regular Halo, when things explode on the Maw Run, there are usually glass shards that come flying out.

Yah I ounce made the mistake of not using the AC in a LAN party.......Hot as hell. Still took forever to get the stench out of my house.

I generally don't notice the glass because well.........I'm driving for my life against a 5 minute clock......whoo Legendary!

Play Halo 2 on Heroic for awhile, and Halo 1's Legendary seems like Halo 2's normal. Just shows you how overpowered Halo 2's enemies are.

Oh I know.......The only thing that got me through H2s legendary was dieing alot and aim assist....

Speaking of H2's legendary being difficult. My friend Blaksh0t and I individually can hold our own in MP and He's beaten SP on legendary, I have only made it through Heroic (and hardly at that, seeing as I don't have an xbox, so I can't practice), and together we are an undefeated team in MP... But let's face it; H2 legendary Co-op is a joke. I mean everything is a one-hit kill (even the potatoes that the lowest of the lowly grunts throw ;)) plus when either of the team mates die, you have to restart from the last checkpoint, and on top of that, if you die too many times they move back the checkpoint! It's like virtual hell on Earth!!!

Anyways, back on topic :)...

I like what Haloking365 said in 1st post (about suggestions for new UI), and yea, I think that "Multiplayer" should be left alone in instead of being replaced by "Online". However, about the Campain option, instead of Hk365's idea, you should click on Campain, and then the UI should allow you to keep more than one campain in the maps folder at once, and be labeled so that you can choose any campain/campain mod available, that way, CMT's SPv1, CMT's SPv2, Z-team's campain (when it is released), and Bungie's reg campain could all be availiable for play without having to muck around with the maps folder a bunch!!

And if my suggestion is impossible, then hey, this thread is only a suggestion thread :).

Lan parties are the best. I went to this one place for my friend's birthday party and he rented out the whole place for 4 or so hours. 15 or so of us were just hogging up this gaming center that was full of great computers and the latest games. Man that must of cost a fortune...

Anyway, for the Maw part, I meant the cutscene when the sentinels swoop in from the windows and start shooting at MC, breaking through (well not breaking through in this case) the glass screen that Keyes stood infront of in the beginning of PoA. And in one of the first suggestions, I meant 'halo' as the second level, halo. Oh, and I said to turn the gunner around because he always seem to be looking into the dropship to begin with unless there are enemies for him to target.

Oh yah the glass part. Well the only scene when the gunner would be looking out is in Silent Cartographer. The other scenes E419s just dropping off troops in a dead enemy ridden land so it really doesn't matter that much........

Heh I own like 6 computers (They're all Med-High end). So all we do is take our CDs install them in all the comps and just crack the games to play on LAN. And since I own the computers......the parties can last anywhere between 5-10 hours depending on how fast we get through the games.........

Suggestion: partially instead of depressing piles of marine-corpses, use those h2 weaponry-pods as ammo stack [at least for some outdoor sections of ceartain levels]

That would work pretty well. Because the pelicans already have the pods on them, its only a matter of making them fall.

i actually didnt realy think of them being delivered by a peli, but as a part of the scenery (would probably be easier).
would be nice though if on halo and on TSC 419 would bring some of those along.


I still wonder how Marines got inside the TaR and why the covanent just left them and their ammo lying there......
mb they were prisoners on the run :/

halo 1 was harder on legendary because in halo 1 you pretty much have to kill EVERYTHING. in halo 2 you can run by em

...suggestion threads are pure fail. some things are impossible, others just don't belong.

also some of these "suggestions for improvements" are actually referring to bugs caused by map encryption i.e. the marines refusing to board the Pelicans on Halo or the save checkpoints.

My suggestion would be to have a firstperson view ofthe shade/geist/warthog turret.

Er no........first person views never worked with vehicles. All it does is make the view obstructed. On the warthog turret you would have a very small area where you could actually see and then the flare would just cover the screen when firing. Same with the Shade. I'm not sure about the geist but the shield would probably obstruct your view.

Yah if this thread was here 7 months ago they might have added some of the suggestions in......

Though personally I would love a single shot Battle Rifle.
