Im using a dell dimension 8400 computer (windows xp home edition sp2). Everything was fine until turned off my computer when bf2142 hanged. Now, whenever i boot up my computer , it will get stuck at the welcome screen (before you are able to type in the user's password) for a very long time. After it booted , I couldn't do anything at all. I can't launch system restore.

Please help me!

EDIT: I think that it booted up in safe mode. When im in windows , only the core processes are running. ( no network )

Your thread title and the description you have provided seem to not match at all, can you please rephrase what you just said? Or clarify what is happening?

BF2142 Froze Up
You Hard Booted
Now it freezes at the login screen

So where at all does "booting up in safe mode for no reason" come into play?

Does it keep booting up in Safe Mode?

If not, then you really don't have to worry about it.
