Tool and Tool # help!

hey guys,

recently I have been experimenting with sapien to make a custom map with custom stuff (obviously) and that works fine, i can save it as a .scenario file but when i try to compile it to a .map i get errors in both tool and tool #.

Welcome to the forums.

What exactly is custom in the map, besides the map geometry itself? Have you tried building the map while using only stock Halo weapons/scenery/vehicles/etc?

This will build a map using the default tags that came with the HEK. The map is called "tutorial". It should compile fine. Post the results here. I'd like to know if it is isolated to your project or something else.

It would probably be isolated to his project. Tool # just merely sends his data to Tool.exe. I wish he'd have posted a link to this in the actual topic for Tool # as well so I would have found this sooner.

Hi p0lar_bear and jcap,
in the map i have got everything exaclty the same except i have changed the ghosts to segwarts (from halomaps.org) and the warthog's to a lambo-styled vehicle (also from halomaps.org), i have also added around 6 biped, including cyborg.biped, cyborg_mp.biped and the Halo 3 masterchief biped (from halomaps.org too).

Yes, i have tried compiling the original tutorial.scenario and with success too.
i left everything the same in the tutorial.scenario file and it compiled into a map ok. It's just my modified scenario file.

It sounds like one of your custom tagsets are borked.

Attempt to compile your custom tutorial.map one more time, and then go into your Halo CE folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\) and open up debug.txt. Scroll to the bottom and paste the last batch of errors here.

If it's the same, simply do some process of elimination. Start with a stock tutorial.map, add one of the custom tagsets, and attempt to compile. If it works, remove it, and do the same to the next one. Repeat until you get the failure error again.

Check the Build Number of Tool # also (Help -> About). I'd like to know if you're using 117, 121, or 161. Not that it makes any relevance, just slightly curious.
