Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
I've been starting to get into making maps with HEK, so I've been looking at tutorials. One of the tutorials on TheGhost's page shows how to create ground textures in Paint Shop Pro. There's a step where you need to create an alpha map. How would you do that in Photoshop? Is it even possible to do it in Photoshop?

Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
I usually right click on blue and click copy and make it named alpha1.

It's easier to just click the new channel button, it names it for you.
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
Yep.
The concept behind it is really quite simple.
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
I usually do everything the hard way. And does anyone know where i can get Adobe CS2, I always get taken to cs3. and cs2 i have everything for.
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
Adobe Photoshop 7-CS3 are the same thing, with UI tweeks and some fancy new filters. Pick One.
Also If your speak of Warez you might get a spanking. :cop:
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
Warez, oh no! I wasn't talking bout that I just wanted cs2 so i could begin making textures for Halo; When I get my HEK fixed.
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
Try to make your ground map a bit more detailed than what most people do. Most people just have flat green with lttle brown lines and it looks kinda fail. To me anyway.
Re: Ground Texturing in Photoshop?
Yes, use multiple shades and then use some burn and dodge on it. Then try to add a bit of detail on it. Make it fancy :)
