How many of you have direct links to map pages at Halo Maps.org
How many people have direct links on their websites or in their documentation to the specific map download pages pointing to the Halo Maps.org website either h2v.halomaps.org or hce.halomaps.org? The link would look something like: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=2194 with a "FID" variable in the URL.

I knew of a lot of the old ones without hce or h2v that no longer worked after the site upgrade, but why do you ask? Are you planning on doing something with the subdomains?

LOL, yup. Just trying to ascertain the suspected importance of the FileID numbers when I re-import the data

Check your referrers to http://*.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=*&fid=* and see how many of them are direct. That would probably be a better / quicker way to see how many links exist in plain text form.

That was my first approach to the problem but since more people use internet security programs these days, most don't even know they have it, the browsers are not sending the referrer information to track reliably. Consequently out of a little more than 2.9 million page views so far this month I am only getting 148,000 requests with referrers. I figured I would do a non-scientific method and just ask :)

I used to but i got tired of re-editing my links due to the updates so i use file planet or my server now. No offense.
