hey everybody, looking for someone who would show me the ropes...

Hey everyone im a Halo CE modder called Sec probably not heard of me but still.
I've now got halo 2 for vista and am having a few troubles
with getting a grip on the basics of mapping for it,so ,i was wondering if anyone here
would be willing to show me to ropes to mapping for this game.
I've looked up a few tutorials but, there
arnt very good tutorials that i found that would help me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there's plenty of good tutorials, the problem is, there's THOUSANDS of shit tutorials.
you tend to get drowned in shit.
i could recommend a few good tuts, but meh.

yeah i've noticed theres alot of tutorials but ive not found any tutorials that actualy help me hopefully somone is willing to help me out.
my main problem is getting new shaders made and referncing them in 3ds max.
Used to be se simple in CE...

i can take a joke but only when its funny.
i am new to this forum and didnt particulary expect people to be joking about in a malicous manner.

Referencing shaders is simple.

The help file tells you what you need to do, mainly.

Bum_has_knife has spoken about it, and so have many other members.

Please use the "search" function in the "Halo 2 Vista Editing & General Discussion" forum and you will find what you need there.

Ignore Atty, he's only here for the rep. :p

Most of us are still trying to figure out the ropes ourselves, if you will. The map-making process has not changed very much from CE, and it is pretty well documented in the included editing reference materials. Beyond that many are still experimenting and trying new things out for themselves. Good luck!

Thanks for the help Ghost ive seen some of yours and kornmans works on the updated editing tools and they look very sophisitcated and quite thought out.
hopefuly the tools will be out once their completed and i dont think they could come out soon enough ha ha.
