I will always wonder why they didn't just use the top half of the standard grenade throwing anims with the legs of the sitting anims...
There was a similar problem with grenade throwing while running and pretty much all of the MC's FRG and flamer anims. :/

I don't think they knew how to do that back then. I'm pretty sure that they were experimenting with stuff while making Halo 1, but I might be wrong.

Well, they got reloading and shooting anims to work; I think they just ran out of time, which seems to be a recurring theme in Bungie's Halo series. :/
