Well, I was having some difficulties installing the side panel on my CM 690 yesterday. Mainly because I'm retarded and didn't actually read the instructions that were on the Frozen CPU website, I just went ahead and started cutting assuming that it would be like all the other case window installs that I've done. However, my previous case window mods were "tape mods' so all I did was use a square piece of plexi behind the panel "window hole" and taped it into place using Scotch/3M #4010.

However, this window kit uses U/H channel as an anchoring method. When I cut the whole in the case I used the window as a template by tracing around it, however I didn't use the included washer to add the extra space required for the u/H channel molding! Therefor when I went to install my window I found that the hole was to small to fit both the window and molding into! Noes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, the nice thing about having holes that are to small, is that you can make them bigger... Which I did by measuring the amount of room required and making a new cut to trim about 10mm off two of the edges (5mm per side x 2 sides = 10mm off left/bottom sides). Luckily enough for me, this fixed my problem! Here are some pictures (no work in progress pics unfortunately)!

Those have been there ever since I was like... 4 of 5 years old, and I've never gotten around to taking them out and replacing them with something else... Some pics of the eVGA nForce 680i FTW motherboard that I was going to use. Unfortunately it was DoA (Dead on Arrival) and the store had no way of knowing that when they sold it to me, at least I was able to get a complete money back refund. Which in turn went into hard drives for now. When I get some more cash I'll eventually upgrade to a working version of that MoBo...

This's my current setup. Yes, the back wall of my room is made of curtains. The other half of the basement is just storage for now, though. Yes, that's a Christmas tree to the right. Haven't moved it yet. But I love my old desk... very solid and lots of room.

I have a G7 but it drops connection every 30 seconds so that thing is shelved. Might get a razer mouse pretty soon. Headset is just fine seeing that I use it only for vent so I hear voices through it and I can still hear my desk speakers sound just fine.

I solved the wireless connection issues with my Logitech MX Revolution buy buying a $2 USB extension cable and anchoring the wireless dongle closer to my mouse.

No issues now.

The bottom 4 or 5 slots are occupied by the radiator for the watercooling system.

It's sort of a server case. It would have no problems fulfilling that role.

Right now my ram isn't budging a bit and it's at the slowest FSB ratio my board supports =/. Loosening the timings doesn't seem to be helping either.

I haven't tweaked with it in a while. Right now the CPU is idling at around 40c where it used to barely idle at 30c, so I think it needs to get some new thermal paste and maybe some more coolant. I haven't done a complete flush of this thing since early 2007, lol.

Right now I'm being really conservative with the voltage; as soon as I get some time I'll see how far I can push it :P.

Nice rig Legionaire, but it's a great example of why I like air cooling > water clooling. I'm to fucking lazy to flush and replenish the system, it's just extra work.

However, my next rig that I build (wont' be until a new big advance in processing technology and graphics technology) will most likely be water cooled, or totally submerged in something like the Reactor.

Idle Temp is now at 22 since it is colder than usual.

As soon as I can get my hands on a decent fan controller, I'm going to drop two of my 120 CFM monsters onto the radiator :cool:.

Mobo was cheap, and case is upgradeable.

Not saying that I would want to keep this case. I wanted to upgrade to a 900, but everybody has that so I might get the cosmos S or whatever if I ever upgrade it.

It's actually because of a difference between the ITX and ATX standards. ATX is just plain bigger, *-ITX was designed for smaller applications, so even if the prefix normally represents a larger unit, it's still probably smaller.

Also, I keep a Mini-ITX in my desk, so I always have a point of reference.

I've never posted pics of the insides of my beige boxes... I should do that when I get home (my desktop that hides behind a pair of filing filing cabinets actually has blue LEDs in the PSU, and my server's PSU cables glow...)

I have a laptop tablet with a working touch screen but the actual laptop doesn't work. Would it be possible to connect JUST the screen to my PC somehow? I was thinking about mounting the tablet screen in the motherboard side case panel and using it as a media controller thingy.

I doubt it, because the monitor I used has a weird type of plug, and it isn't something that you can just plug into a desktop.

You need a converter to use laptop screens on a desktop... and you'll probably need to build it yourself.
