Oh man those Russians really love their MilSim/RP airsoft games... We have like one or two of those on that scale every year in all of Canada.
I believe the correct term is "Operation" or "Op." There are about three or four of those every year here in the US. Dedicated players actually fly out to Europe to take part in those ops as well.
It'd be nice if we could do that, or even host international games... Won't be getting an airsoft gun in or out of Canada by plane.
They're called whatever the game is designated by the admins, last year we had "Operation Coldfront" but the names vary. "MilSim" is the general term for a big scenario game like that.
Well, most of them aren't actual MilSim though. MilSim games require you to have real-cap magasines (no hi-caps) or else load them as such, have rigid uniform requirements for the factions involved, etc. Operations tend to just be big games like this where there are looser rules, and in general it's pretty laid back.
But it would be nice to do an international game. Finland has some really nice ones going, and the UK has some too, though my gun would not fall within the shitty UK airsoft requirements. If you break the gun into pieces, you can get by airport security.
Well, legally you can pack a gun in a locked gun case and ship it as luggage (not carry-on obviously) here in Canada. You can even ship it out internationally but it gets iffy on different countries importation laws, oh and if you try and bring it back into Canada they won't let you if it looks like it's Prohibited, even if you were the one that took it out in the first place.
