Look at all that plastic lol. BRING BACK WOOD!!!
There's no plastic on the XCR. It's all metal except for the pistol grip, cheek rest, and butt pad.
which you must replace with wood :haw:
Wood butt-pad, good idea!!
:like:
And since your Arshins away from posting photoo's of Ivans work, I had to substitute by taking my own photo's to help ease Ivans soul.
Also doesn't Denatured Alcohol help thin Shellac out and spread it around slightly, because I was told it does thin Shellac out since I wanna fix the flaking Shellac on mine.
YOU TAKE VERY GOOD PHOTO. IMPRESSES ME. PLEASE TELL ME SECRETS, I AM NOT GOOD WITH CAMERA.
AS FOR SERVICE RIFLE OF GLORIOUS CRUSHING DESTRUCTION OF NAZI INVADER, HERE IS GUIDE TO CLEAN AND RESTORE. I HOPE YOU FIND HELPFUL. REMEMBER TO TEST IDEA ON SMALL UNIMPORTANT PART BEFORE DO TO WHOLE RIFLE, FOR TO AVOID FUCKING UP EVERYTHING.
ADDITIONAL, WHAT YEAR IS YOUR RIFLE? I SEE IZHEVSK MARKING. DOES RIFLE HAVE ALL SAME SERIAL NUMBER?
I just took a bunch of pictures with my very good camera at a certain time of day when the sun is just past noon. I took not too many to find the one I liked the most. 1943, the common year. The only reason why I bought a 2nd one is because of the stock and how nice the metal looked, looked like it was machined during peace-time not wartime. The magazine looks unrefurbed, some blueing is left but once in sun light its almost pure white. And no my rifle is not all matching, it was force matched by electro penciling in which before I bought it my friend polished the bolt and the electro-penciled number was gone. Thanks for the guide to cleaning my rifle comrade.
Also my first MN I left with my grandfather since he might have hung it up somewhere but he didn't, he said when I come back I should bring it with me so I'm hoping sometime in April I shall be getting it, now that is all matching if my mind tells me right.
Thanks for the guide Ross, that was very helpful!
