Meh, I like the designs mainly because it fits the game and the game's atmosphere. The AR is also probably one of the best looking weapons in the game IMO, which is why I don't mind having it in Campaign as much as I do. I'm glad they used more Polies for the phantom, environment (greatly freaking needed), and the characters. I think it's better to have more polies than not enough polies anyways in an engine like this.
you are so not getting the point. No one is saying that using polies is bad. We're saying that using polies for the sake of using polies is bad.
It seems Bungie give the Halo weapons a more modern day feel and a bit more realism, they seem to look more functional and human. I generally think the designs are awesome and interesting.
i just feel like they could have spared some of those ridiculous shapes and details to put the polies toward something else, like making things NOT 6 sided cylinders. ESPECIALLY when they are zoomed in on during a cutscene.
yes, using polies is good, but just using them on stupid looking stuff just because you can is kind of irritating. im not fond of any of the gun designs besides the magnum. theres just way too much un-necessary tacticool stuff going on.
those guns definitely dont look any more human than any other halo game, though. less imo. i think the reason they seem so much more human is because of all bungie did with the animation. im pretty fond of the animations.
