What's the scale comparison of the Transmitter to the Player?
Waw that's cool. I like that blue orb, and those things right at the top, looks great.
Holy shit. I thought it was just like 7 feet tall.
Can we still blow it up pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
The blow up button is right click.
I thought it was the button behind the keyboard :f5:
Oshi- Personal attack!
My ears were raped by the last one. My volume was up to loud.
If you guys want to talk about useless things that blow up ask lag about the trees.
Lag whats up with the exploding trees?
I think that the height is appropriate for the kind of equipment it is. After all, this is a communications array, and for something of that nature to work effectively it's going to need to be able to get the sigal up into the atmosphere. I say keep the height. It looks good and gives it the scale that makes it an objective type of thing. If it were small, what would possibly dictate it as an objective apart from typical scenery? What makes you walk past all the others but not this one?
It looks substantial, and it should. Keep it this big, hell, if not make it bigger!
I almost think it needs tethers running from the top holding it to the ground... That's just me though.
It looks badass being all tall.
You guys should make every single piece of scenery destructible. It would be AWESOME!
DO IT OR I WILL HAET CMT FOREVER!!!
Can we get the choice of driving a blown-up wreck of a warthog at the end of the Maw? I always loved doing that in CMTv1.
Too bad it lacked shaders :/
Those transmitters look as if they are similar to halo 2's but to a larger scale. I like it!:)
You guys should get an RSS feed for this mod. Is there any way to subscribe to this thread with RSS?
Trees can be destructible, too... Ever play Battlefield: Bad Company? =P
That game was cool. When you threw a grenade it made a hole in the ground.
The general developer populous uses gimmicks to sell their games. They figure the gimmicks will cause people to be blinded by the sheer amount of crap left in the game that is...well just crap. It allows them to come up with new ideas quick, implement them quick, and get credit for being "first". First poster developers. Just as annoying as their forum cousins.
I'm glad they're working on BF3 :)
So how about this mod...Pretty neat stuff in here.
Are the jackal snipers gonna have glowinglights?
The transmitter's holographic control panel looks sleek and cool.
Goodjob.
Masterz, post some computer specs. I want to know what kind of machine those pics were taken with.
Haha, good idea with the ship! =P
Any chance we can get a better look at the skybox there? Looks kind of strange in those pictures... The ground that is.
You can check my profile for my specs.
The sky box is still the same thing we had in SPV1. Lag was going to do one, but it's difficult because we need it to look good when viewed from any angle. If there's anyone who has made some good sky boxes before, PM me your work and maybe you can help.
HEY....I like it. :)
DEEhunter?
No.... He doesn't even do his skies right.
Touch device?
That immediately makes me think of molesting the device. You should change it to activate device or something different
What the hell is wrong with you people?
Stop spamming the damn thread with childishness
Normally I wouldn't get this aggressive, but would you kids shut the fuck up? Is it that fucking hard to discuss something maturely? If you were my kids I would have fucking raped you and left you at the grocery store by now. If I ever caught wind of where any of you lived I would tie you to a goddamn chair and rape and kill your family right in front of you and make you watch every second of it.
Anyway, Masterz my good man I would be enthralled at an opportunity to throw some paintings together for a skybox; I normally wouldn't go out of my way to offer help, but I am actually impressed on how this is evolving, it would be a shame to have the mod lacking in the way of atmosphere.
I remain neutral in the discussion right now... But what's with the sudden hostility throughout the forum? Maybe I'm the only one who's noticed it... but holy cow. Not only do the newbies need to chill, but the senior members need to tone it down a touch.
Just saying. Please don't start yelling at me too.
Get back on topic. Or else.
So, please tell me you didn't fix ALL of your problems by putting a big-ass ship over them.
We fixed ALL of our problems by putting a big-ass ship over them.
Also, if I post a picture of possible flood-brute geometry, will you guys promise to :
A) Not bitch at me if they don't end up making it in
B) Not bitch at me for reusing 99% of the original brute geometry and texturing (necessary if they're going to make it in at all, as tagslots are really cramped on some levels)
C) Understand that if I made drastic changes to the model that it would get more and more likely that they'd need an entirley new skin (which, considering how busy/away dano is, would also jeopardize their inclusion)
?
No bitching. >:U
Will it be textured or just modeled? I'm curious to see how it'd end up being textured really.
I'm not at all happy with this - if I didn't have to deal with keeping it compatible with the original skin I would put far more into it.
My main question is : Given that these would just be a novelty and wouldn't add much to gameplay, and given that I can't do much with the model if I keep the old skin, is this worth trying to get ingame (which may not even be possible) or should we just drop it here? Any additions or changes that could be made to make this less of a cheap halomaps kid edit would be much appreciated.
PLEASE KEEP THE CONDITIONS OF MY LAST LAST POST IN MIND.
I think it looks nice, but not sure what it would do with gameplay considering its just another flood..
I think that's worth keeping. The work's been done on it, it looks good. I like that a lot. Would the animations for this be that same as for the brute? And about how long would it take to experiment with until you are happy with it (approximately)?
It could add variation to things like the Library, as it's another enemy and relieves some monotony of seeing the same thing over again. I like the idea, it looks good and were it to go in-game, it would be a nice touch, so that's a yes from me.
But also; tagspace. If this thing takes up valuable tagspace (and time taken to work on it) that would be better used elsewhere, I'd leave it... Another tremendous statement from Cpt. Obvious :downs:.
Even I'm not cheap enough to use the default brute anims. They would be using a custom set based on a modified version of the flood human animations.
Regarding what you said about the Library : that was my main feeling as well. They probably wouldn't fit into any other level, but for that one time I thought to might be neat.
That Brute flood looks pretty nice. If you could make it less furry, that'd be great, although it's fine if you can't fix it. Is it possible to add a "flood-head" to it? Like Elite combat forms have in their chests, Human combat forms have in their chests or necks, and Brute combat forms have in their chests?
Will the Brute flood behave any differently than other flood, or have any special features to them (like Elite forms have shields)?
The head looks fugly, but then again it's the flood and it's covered in fur. I agree with a lot that Arteen said. Will this have anything different to offer compared to an Elite or human combat form? I mean, would it retain it's power armor or jsut have more health?
Looks generally well done though. The tentacles and shit poking out of it is sick nasty.
They may have shields, but they're otherwise a gimmick. Just a way of mixing up the bore of flood combat. I may make small edits to the skin, which could then include the "flood head" and remove the fur, but I'm not so confident in my abilities to that end :p. The main concern is being able to use the original base textures.
Dear god I hate that brute.
Its good as a concept but I hate the idea.
I say keep it in, unless there's something else very important that you'd be taking out. If you could do the things that Arteen suggested, then that'd be great, but if not, then that's good too. Anything to add more variety to the Flood is a good thing.
The flood head of the brute grew out of the throat/mouth. That might be rather difficult to model. Just contort the head back a little bit and make it fumble and add the flood head in the chest.
My suggestion was to have the brute flood an entirely different class of flood. Like somehow the infection causes a permanent berserk mode, where they're running on all 4's. The player would have to wait till the opportune moment to kill him, I.E. when they try to jump at him. They would attack in groups of 4's so that would demand the players immediate attention. I thought it would dynamic twist to gameplay.
That would never work though with the amount of tagspace a whole new animation graph would require. Not to mention, new model and colli models are already going to be a problem if we do brutes, since flood forms have very large models and collisions, due to regional damage.
Good. Then its settled. No flood brutes.
i liked the biped as the flood form had transformed the body to the point where the chest armor was askew, its not the H3 brute flood, its better. the H3 brute flood looked horrible, if you do cut it then thats a shame. what would become of it if it became cut? would it just rot in CMT's tag vault or would you send it into the wastelands o halomaps to be ravaged and taken advantge of by people...
(the last part doesn't refer to me, I myself HATE brutes in general, so yeah)
anyways, lookin good. when in doubt, throw a big ass ship over things xD nice
So it's just flood elites and flood humans?
Sounds good to me.
Their's already
1. Infection form

2. Two types of Combat Forms

3.Carrier Forms

4.Proto-Graveminds

5. Maybe a Special CMT only type.
I think one less flood is okay.
Maybe that flying one Dano made :O
That's never going in.
Theres really no point in a Brute flood form in the mod, unless you want another enemy to fight and a tougher one to take down.
Less flood brutes more release. Kthxbai.
imo flood brutes are a waste of time, and tag space
flood brutes add authenticity to the mod, pretty wierd that there are healthy brutes but not flood brutes when they get shat over in a flood level.
makes it more believable of a universe and clears up a possible question in the gamers mind "Why are there no flood brutes when I just saw 5 get raped by some infection flood ?, hmm wtf must be a dev error"
leave them in, look pretty anyways.
Or you could just use your imagination and we could actually have the mod released before Halo 4.
You couldn't just sow them around the place as bodies?
Perhaps the flood aren't really compatible with brutes. They can infect them but the host won't last for more than a minute or two.
Heres a thought, if you want to use brute flood you could make them carriers, since all combat forms eventually become carriers anyways. It would need its own model/anims/textures, but could use mostly the same stuff you posted. The model would need to be expanded, maybe make the head flopping off on the side, but it would be interesting to fight.
in some levels they could replace the original carriers, and it might add a twist to gameplay to make them faster than normal carriers or something. Just speculation of course.
Derailing the flood convo here for a second...
