Heard it's a pretty good civilian alternative to an ACOG and got good reviews. Wondering if you all heard anything different
Nah, the SAF is at Lithgow, which is about 3 hours' drive northwest of Sydney. The AWM's museum has all sorts of awesome stuff though, one of the better war museums I've been to (and that includes all the ones in Europe).
Where do you live in Aus anyways?
newcastle, it's about 200km north of sydney on the coast. major coal harbour
Slightly off-topic, but does anyone here know a lot about knives? Im looking for a better hunting blade than the massive fucking bowie knife I bought when I was 13.
Kershaw and Benchmade I know make some pretty good knives. They have hunting products but I've never used any of them for hunting so I can't speak from experience. I've owned two Kershaw assisted open blades though and loved them. They've both held their edge pretty well and are made of some quality steel.
So I was just at The Nation's Gun Show yesterday. Pretty terrible selection of weapons this time. The only thing noteworthy was an entire rack of maybe 20 military-issue M1897 shotguns for sale, all of them with heatshields and bayonet lugs, and some of them with bayonets included. There were maybe 20 Mosins on the floor, costing upwards of $250 each (lolno). One SVT-40, at $950. And shitloads of TAURUS weapons. Fucking. Taurus. Everywhere.
Probably time of year, summer usually has a better selection.
