I didn't read this entire thread, but, does anyone know if this will effect people who don't use a CD to play Halo?

Pretty much. I bought the game originally the first day it came out - But I lost the CD about 2 years ago while evacuating away from a hurricane.
Sidenote: I still have my CD key.

Anyone thought of the possibility of Halo PC being added to Steam? Use your CD Key to activate your copy for free? This just occurred to me a few minutes ago and sounds like a somewhat realistic possibility imo. Though if they added Halo PC, I'd hope they also add Custom Edition (a la "Would you like to launch Halo Combat Evolved or Halo Custom Edition?" OR just merge the games if possible, probably not though)

I highly doubt Steam would pick up a 5 year old game, although, they still do support Call of Duty 1.
But then again they supported CoD1 since its release, so yeah. I don't know.

Huh? Steam picks up old games all the time. In fact, earlier today, a ton of old school LucasArts games were added.
