I'd still much rather shoot .223 Rem for easy shooting on the range, but since I can't hunt with it here I'll never buy a cool rifle like a TAR 21 or AR platform. I need a rifle that will work just as well when I'm out hunting as it will on the range, and that's probably why I'm going to get a Robinson Armament XCR in 7.62x39 with a 18.6" barrel. That makes it Non-Restricted here in Canada (okay to hunt with) and the 7.62x39 caliber has more than enough power to put down anything from deer to moose.
Plus I'll have an AR platform that I can take to the range and run through some tactical courses with.

Got to play with 4 different G3 styles today , a G43, and an FAL. I came buckets, everywhere they were so nice. So I decided to order an M1 Garand in a few weeks : D

i would love full auto but hell i don't need it and i guess the silencer law probably only allows use to put down sick animals? that's how i've heard it treated in some other states.

Which render's silencers pointless, except as a melee weapon or a poor flute.
Re: Modacity shooters' thread
greatest legal silencer in the world: a loaf of white bread.
Re: Modacity shooters' thread
New Hampshire for the fucking win. You need licenses for ONLY the following: Concealed carry, silenced weapons, automatic weapons. However Automatic weapons usually run around 20k plus. Cheapest autmatic weapon I've found so far was a WWII PPSH for $16,000. So you need some serious fucking cash to own autos. Saw an MG42 for $54,000. Modern day Assault Rifles run between $20,000 and $40,000.
...Then again, you can always mod the receiver yourself. Just don't fuck up.

wtf... you need to move. I was just in idaho and a mp5 9mm was 4200
Re: Modacity shooters' thread
Can a civilian purchase a fully functional G36/G36E in the states anywhere? How much do they run for down there? I know there are 5-10 G36E variants in Canada that were factory modified by H&K to only include the Safe/Semi firing modes for trial purposes by the Government at one time. Minimum cost for one is something like $10,000 if you can find one for sale, they're Non-Restricted as well haha!
Re: Modacity shooters' thread
I believe the rule is that if it has a pistol grip, the magazine release must not be accessible without a tool. Theres probably some silly law about the folding stock too, but I think as long as it only has 10 round magazines that are not removable without a tool, and the automatic is disabled, you should be able to buy one here (california laws, which are stricter than the other state laws). Thats how you can make AK's legal.
Re: Modacity shooters' thread
i think i might be fucking with laws with that AK with the three 30 round banana mags and the 80 round drum magazine then. lol.
