I thought it was obvious from watching the CEA trailer that it was the exact same game as the original. Same sound effects, same animations, etc. The Waypoint video hints at small bits of extra content, like terminals, so that's neat. I wonder if there will be 4-player online co-op?
Continuity should never get in the way of gameplay. I'm glad to see it. Reminds me of the people who demanded a story explanation for why MC's hand guards changed from Halo 2 to Halo 3.
I disagree. Continuity is king.

I'm fine with him getting a jetpack. I'm not fine with him always having a jetpack we knew nothing about. It's a pre-rendered teaser trailer though, who cares.
I read halo 4 was 360 exclusive... is that the case with halo 1 remake?? :(
I have a 360, but I dont care much for it.
Also, I'm feeling cynical for no real reason, so I just feel like saying this about everyone disappointed about the 360 exclusivity:
You're forgetting where Halo came from in the first place. We were lucky to have gotten a PC port and even luckier to get a moddable version of the PC port. Stop acting entitled.
You also forget that Microsoft is entirely incapable of correctly porting the Halo series. We all whined about HPC/CE's netcode, and about H2V in its entirety.
They didn't retcon him in a jetpack in the old games, they just magically gave him one in the new game. You're already thinking about it too much!
to get away from Halo for a bit
The Ubi conference really impressed me; while I really miss the 3D Rayman games, the new one is drop-dead gorgous and I can't wait to give it a shot (I always like me a good 2D platformer.) Future Soldier looks boss and while Ass Creed's getting a bit stale after all the yearly releases I can still see myself having a lot of fun with it.
Far Cry 3, on the other hand, took me by complete surprise and looks 'effing bad ass. I want it. Now.
Regarding Halo:A, I think it overall looks pretty good. I just hope the Reach marines and assault rifle are just placeholders.
It would be cool if there was a menu where you could mix and match the updated assets from the old ones. That's where I'd keep everything original except the environments and vehicles.
