Makes a good point about people bitching relentless about something DICE has provided for free for both their benefit and ours. And why would you complain if you get banned for using unauthorized server files? You didn't really buy the game (unless you're one of those people who puts all $60 down at pre-order) yet so they technically have every right to do what ever the hell they want. These guys are working their ass off to get this game out, give them a break and some respect.
Also M40 with iron sights is hilariously fun. Especially when you run in and capture the objective with it
What a prick (the DICE guy).

The previously paragraph

"Right now, I am not in the mood to even browse in here and check out most parts of the forum," Daniel Matros began on Sept. 20
He should not be saying 'we', he should be saying 'they', because hes not bothering to do this job, community manager my arse.

That is the purpose of the Beta as well as combining it with Battlelog and all of the features there.
What a total lie. The Battlelog does not have all the features in the beta. There is absolutely no squad based controls, and they video log already stated the Battlelog is what will control squads.
Do you guys actually know how much it would cost for the QA team to collect this amount of varied data, that they are getting from beta players? It would take hours and hours, and tens of thousands of dollars. I dont think they fully appreciate the amount of effort the 'ungrateful community' is putting in.
Re: Battlefield 3 (10/2 - FUCK DICE, no more custom servers)
That's why I always put redaction into my contracts. It's a bit different (IE you don't have a choice as a slave to the manager and the top never has good contracting sense) if you're working corporate, but for me if a client says he doesn't like something after signing off on it he gets penalized and pays hefty pro rata for however long it takes to find what they want. You'd be surprised how quickly clients lose that indecisive attitude.
As long as I get payed for my time, I don't care if projects get cancelled. Unless of course it's a bankruptcy and I lose my job.

I'm in a situation where I advise 'technically-not-my-boss' and VP on technological matters, they then agree and give the go-ahead and then months down the like change their mind and go against the rational of the reasoning originally used.
Yes its annoying, it bugs me and feels like they just change their mind willynilly, but at the end I'm there to do my job and be instructed by superiors. If I don't like that then I should quit. And then at the end of the project, if people turn around and question my decisions I can explain the situation.
The DICE guy isnt acting like that, hes not like "well we figured it was more beneficial to test the functionality given by Operation Metro and improvements made since the alpha", instead it was "well if you dont like that map, well then I guess we dont agree on what maps we should use".
DICE need to remember they are a business, or at least play a vital role in their business model, they need to respect their customers.
This feels like another Crysis 2 release, just worse.
Re: Battlefield 3 (10/3 - Let's not use naughty words now, there could be kids here)
Business, beta, and bug issues aside, anyone get the chance to use the jets in Caspian? Can you lock on to ground vehicles with them or does recon have to use the SOFLAM to designate the targets for planes?
Re: Battlefield 3 (10/3 - Let's not use naughty words now, there could be kids here)
How would they possible detect who is hosting the game? I ran a dedicated server, but was only even in the game half the time.

I never got enough use out of them to unlock any extra munitions beyond flares. I don't imagine many others did either. Getting a jet is down to luck, most of the time.

Which makes me fear hardcore/FF enabled servers where it's going to be a giant TK fest for the jets >_< just like the apache in BC2

People ignore the choppers in 500 and 1000 ticket servers. I read somewhere that missiles weren't included in the beta version of CB. I'm assuming you get a basic type straight away since the gatling gun does jack and shit to anything except other planes.
Re: Battlefield 3 (10/3 - Let's not use naughty words now, there could be kids here)
Um. My rank was reset. I have no idea why. I'm sort of pissed.
Re: Battlefield 3 (10/3 - Let's not use naughty words now, there could be kids here)
You sure your rank was reset? It's showing as Rank 13 for me. You may just be experiencing a glitch similar to when Reach is unable to retrieve player stats from the main server.
