Is there hat-look support in BF3? Like, can you look around without turning the aircraft? Also, that bouncing may be because you are moving fast.

obviously he does :realsmug:
so is the jet flying in this worth getting a flight sim joystick? by get, i mean steal it from my cousin, so the real question is how is the flying? is it like, flight sim combat grade?
Between the arrow keys and m/kb, arrow keys and wasd worked better for me. I tried hooking up my joystick, but the buttons were all fucked and I gave up.
There obviously is since Derplancer used it in his video. I never figured out the key to activate the free look, though. I forgot to recheck the controls menu which most definitely would have told me which one it is.
I never used a joystick, so I don't know if the hat key is auto-bound to that. If you hold down Ctrl while in the cockpit view your mouse movements turn into a hat-look style view. I did it in the beginning of my jets video.
The only problem I had with mouse/keyboard is that when you're turning/pulling up you'll eventually run your mouse off the surface it's on. Need a joystick to compensate for that. I have a Saitek joystick that I'll have to try when the game is released.
This. I just used my good ol' keyboard for flying. My only complaint was having to unlock flares and missiles for the jet and chopper. I was only able to take down one jet and a chopper throughout the entire beta when I was flying a jet. :c Also the damn helis need a damn health buff. Anybody could take those down easily.
After the bollocks that was heli circle-strafing on Atacama, can you honestly blame them for nerfing the helicopters?
It's typical DICE. There's always one borderline game-breaking feature in a Battlefield game. Sometimes they fix it, but when they do, it always results in another borderline game-breaking feature.
