Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
I agree with what polar bear said. Its a good game, its definitely fun. But does it really feel like a new Halo game? Not really, more like 3.5, which a few subtle changes and obviously the armor abilities.
Had some great games, played with polar and sparatan094 last night, was a blast.

Aye you never responded to my messages lol until I checked on xbox.com. Then again my gamertag does not reflect off my username here in no way at all so yeah lol. You might like to say I charge quite abit with the sprint perk.
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
Gotta be honest, last few games I wasnt paying attention I was having a chat with my housemate. The game I played with you was the last one of the night.
I'm not a fan of the limited armor upgrades. You can buy 3 helmets, each then have like 3 sub objects you can purchase, like a camera or light that attaches.
The shoulder pieces, most are locked because of level, I'm corporal grade 1 and armor I can buy is pretty crap, I want that Mark V :D
Chest, well pretty much same issue with shoulder pieces.
I understand this is a beta, but would have liked a bit more variety to really show case the "store" aspect.
Overall the game feels ALOT more fast paced than Halo 3.
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
Wasn't Halo 3 Halo 2.5, so Halo 3.5 would be a full increment above.
But really, what could they do to make it feel a leap ahead? Whatever it would be, they're probably saving it for their new IP.
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
I see what you mean, I think Halo 3 was too awesome, and the gap between 2 and 3 was so great, that we feel let down by this new iteration because the difference isnt the same.
Jetpack isnt as cool as trailers made it, or at least thats why I feel. Its not really that useful.
Then again, I'd pick to play Halo Reach over Halo 3 right now.
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
The thing I'm looking forward to is Invasion, which isn't even part of the beta yet. That's what I'll be playing most at retail. Hopefully, those "profags" will be drawn to the Arena like a moth to a blowtorch, leaving the civilized people to play Invasion.
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
What is this bullshit reuse of the Halo 3 AR/BR reload in place of the reload-empty for the AR/DMR, coupled with a shitty bolt movement thingie?
It just doesn't fit at all, and it shows horribly laziness. If it was me, I'd just use the nice new reload-full, and then add a bolt pull sort of like what ICEE did for the Sigma AR.[/ODXAnimationRant...Again]
(Yeah bite me, but excuse me for being an animation whore)
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
I am REALLY hoping that Forge Gulch is Blood Gulch and Forge Island is Death Island. I'm probably wrong.
Nice to see Ivory Tower, though.

No. Every time Bungie makes the needler actually useful in multiplayer, everyone whines about how it's overpowered because they were stupid enough to mentally write it off and pass it over in the game for the profag BR/Pistol/DMR/etc. Seriously, it's probably not overpowered (remember, the original Halo 3 needler was "overpowered" too), you just need to learn the ways of the sidestepping. I'll let you know on Monday what I think of it. Hell, I'll probably be whoring it (<3 needlers from all 4 games).
Re: The Upcoming: Halo Reach
I love Needlers.
They're my favorite weapon.
I remember killing idiots trying to get to the ATV/Sniper/Rockets on Yoyorast Island with the Needler as they ran for their lives up that ramp.
