Been a while since I've seen an AMD CPU in a full-sized laptop, lol. I've seen plenty of mobile Radeons lately, but AMD's CPU presence seems mostly confined to the netbook/sub-notebook category (those E-350 models).
Good to hear that you're getting acceptable performance. This game is definitely more accessible than I thought!

You're going to start seeing more, what with the A-series APUs and more models on the way. What's surprising is that he is running it so well on a CPU that is hardly any better than what I have in my desktop with the notable exception of having one more core than mine.

Re: Battlefield 3
Damavand Peak might just be my favorite map. It's just about perfect for everything, from sniping to being a bastard with my DAO-12. Grand Bazaar and shotguns go together like Bacon and Eggs, rush is extremely intense here and I like it. Caspian Border is awesome all around, I prefer it on Rush due to the access of an A-10 Thunderbolt II. Had a REALLY good match on Kharg Island, the whole thing feels like it Oasis for some reason. Seine Crossing feels very good, like what Metro tries to be only better.
Tehran Highway I do not like, the hills make gameplay flow extremely awkward.

Re: Battlefield 3
Damavand fucking sucks, what the hell are you talking about. Meatgrinder on rush, tunnel chokefest on conquest.

Re: Battlefield 3
I have yet to experience a bad game on Damavand Peak. I tend to stay away from it on Conquest though.

Re: Battlefield 3
I haven't played Operation Metro yet, but in the Alpha and Beta, my frames chugged. Caspian Border was more open so, my FPS shot right up. So far in the final release my frames don't dip below 27. That's an improvement.
And as I asked before: did anyone get SPECACT skins with their pre-order?

Re: Battlefield 3
Pretty sure I didn't.
E: Oh, SPECACT and the Dogtag Pack weren't included if you preordered from Origin, which I did.

Re: Battlefield 3
Heh, I may have bought the Russian Extended Edition, but it came with Back to Karkand, Physical Warfare Pack, SPECACT Skins, and the game. All for $44US :D
I had to change the language to English, but that wasn't an inconvenience since it was funny to play campaign with ruskies doing voices. That was before the game went truly live, though so I have my English campaign progress uploaded to the cloud now. I sort of regret picking Hard difficulty now. It's gonna take me forever to get through the game if I die every time I get hit by 3 bullets. Oh well, not as bad as Ghost Recon.
