Nice and clean, I like.
Nice and clean, I like.
Sub woofer on top of the Chassis?
Thank Con :]. It doesn't stay that clean though, it's normally covered in books/refill. The sub is there because I don't really anywhere else to put it. Maybe on my set of draws
In other news, my motherboard fucked out last night (started smoking and sh*t, left a black patch on my case), and I spent two hours this morning installing a new one.
fire hazard
Yeah ExAm yelled at me earlier, i've moved it. Sub wasn't really going at the time so I doubt it was the problem. It was around 3 and a half years old, and part that shat out was surrounded by dust.
Be glad ExAm found it/you first... :shake:
Isn't the best place for a sub on the floor? I've got mine near my feet under my desk with enough space for proper airflow. It's awesome when you feel the thump of the bass on the ground and it still sounds great.
In my defense it's only be there for about 3 days, since I got my new monitor.
Floor is always the best place for the sub in my opinion. I've got mine sitting on either end of my desk, flanking it, but since the floor is essentially the house's concrete foundation, I mostly feel the bass through the desk, not the floor. Actually, if I reach up and hold my hand to the ceiling I can feel the bass in the roof better than the floor too lol.
I've got that same situation Varmint, my sub is on the floor behind my desk but it's on carpeted concrete so there's almost no floor vibration... Unless I'm blasting music at 3/4 or higher volume.
Kind of an old picture right after I assembled this computer back in Abu Dhabi:

As you can see it looks very generic, but I was on a tight budget. I want the Doom 3 case mod though :maddowns:
current specs are AMD Phenom X4 9500, 4 GB ram, 500 GB 7200rpm hard drive, msi k9n2 motherboard, and XFX geforce 8800GT 512 MB. The monitor is 1440x900 19 inches, hoping to get a 21.5" 1920x1080 this summer though.
I bought an AMD Phenom II X4 940 and a Radeon HD 5770 in Canada and those will be installed once I get home.
Also it now runs Windows 7 Professional instead of the Vista it used to run.
This is the computer I use in university:

13 inch macbook pro...2.26 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB ram, 160 GB 5400rpm hard drive, and integrated Geforce 9400M. Ownage webcam built in. Runs 10.5 leopard and win7 professional x86 in bootcamp.
lol, I realized I have a chinese engineering students association clipboard on my desk...my half-Chinese roommate convinced me to join the club but I never went to any meetings beyond the first orientation day since I'm unsurprisingly very out of place in such a club.
That's a nice monitor you got there.
Latest case mod, cut up the bottom fan mount/grill and mounted it on the front of my Thermaltake iCage as a fan grill to match the bottom one:

Yeah, my walls are purple, deal with it. Those are bose speakers from 1985, and a VCR so I can get video from my cable box to that old tv which has no a/v inputs. The rest is self explanatory.
Also, I broke my front usb ports, so I had to put an old one that doesn't fit, which I have sitting in my extra dvd drive slot, which is why there are wires sticking out (USB extensions) and duct taped to my wall. A.K.A. Ghetto rigged.
Pretty sweet, I need to clean my tower, its been a few months..
But I still like ym case better
I think I need to upgrade my case again...

My CM 690 girl is hotter (sure it's really the 690 II, but it's basically the same) :D
I'll bet not one of those girls knows how to install a stick of RAM.
I always work on my system in high heels too.

1U embedded Atom 330 server.
How's the battery life when it's under load?
I want that keyboard.
meh, i would find that changing lighting to be too distracting.
Low power mode is called 'Stealth Mode'? Kids and their new toys... :allears:
MW2 at 02:55
Is it possible to turn the keyboard lights off? It'd be distracting when watching movies
Im sure its over 100 degrees in that little corner
Yup, you just press FN+F11 and they all shut off.
That is pretty sweet, you should hook up the iMac to the monitor directly left of it. Then hook the PC up to both the far left and middle monitors, then you could "share" the middle screen as a second screen for both the PC and Mac!
Like this:
Screen---Screen---Screen
.....|.............|............|
...|‾|..........|‾|.........Mac
360.PC.....PC..Mac
Obviously will only work if you have multiple inputs on both of the black monitors. Then you can setup Synergy on the PC, Mac, and laptop and use one mouse and keyboard for all three!
Those things are old and only have one input. :\
Well, you could always get switches for the monitors... But it would cost money that I'm not sure you're willing to invest.
It looks like you have a higher fov than usual, cg_fov is cheat protected for me whenever I try to change it.
IIRC the FOV is increased during killcam viewing, I haven't changed anything. However there's a modified EXE being created that unlocks all the cheat protected stuff in regular play, like AllDevMode for Halo Custom Edition. Can't wait for that because it will enable me to play properly on my triple monitors.
That thing must weight a brick and half. My laptop is 3.4lbs
This one is definitely at least 8lbs, haven't weighed it yet though...
That's Beast.
Asus says theyre going to release something to beat that, but I think alienware has something lined up to beat THAT asus one.
Goddamn laptops.
I like, it looks really clean even though it isn't really... Like, you didn't go out of your way to clean up cables and such but it still looks awesome haha.
I could go for a 32" HDMI screen... my 22" HDMI monitor really isn't great for having a bunch of friends over to game and watch movies on.
Holy crap I'm not the only one who keeps a hugeass bowl of jelly beans in my room... but why is it next to your tv?
As of now the only working computer in my house is my old crappy laptop, which I'm using now. Will post pics later.
Who buys an 18.4" laptop.... also that jap soda is the shit. I get it at Central Market all the time.
Because I can't work with sub HD resolutions and it is a desktop replacement.
Yes Ramune is amazing, I just found out about it from a friend and bought 2 cases of it.
Alienware is coming out with an M18x (18") this year... Not sure if it's going to be 16:9 or 16:10 however. Personally I find anything bigger than 15" in a laptop way to big, it's no longer portable and generally just get used as desktop replacements, so why not use a desktop?
This thing fits in my backback, which isnt even that big. It's 8 pounds and less than an inch thick. I didn't want to get a desktop since I occasionaly have to bring it to school etc
Also had the power of an alienware without the price.
Well, the Alienware equivalent to that would be the M17x which has SLI/Crossfire... Does that have dual GPU solutions?
It has PCI express and a 9600M GT. Plays everything I want to play just fine.
PCI-E Laptops are nice :)

That's my current "bedroom."... AKA I moved back home, and moved into the attic and just went nuts setting up all my old systems and such getting everything to be awesome.
More shots of the room I'm in.

I have an Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, and Xbox 360 hooked up right now.... the Wii is still sitting in a box because I honestly don't give a damn about it, and I don't have a PS3 because it doesn't have any games.
I also have an Original Gameboy (pocket), Sega GameGear, Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and Nintendo DS sitting up here too.
http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/427/1002798.jpg
Somewhat better picture, as you can actually see what's going on here.... the gamecube normally sits on top of the Xbox up there, but I was modding Xboxes, and so I had to move the gamecube temporarily, and haven't moved it back yet lol.
Also, there's another lava lamp off on the right of everything too.
That black monitor on the right is hooked up to my file server which you've all seen before. I just bought another 1.5 TB drive for that for $60, but I don't have the proper power for it yet... have to get a little adapter thing... *sigh* My actual work machine is still unplugged though.... so any computing I do is on my macbook :D
Sheesh
I don't know who's room I like better.
Your room or Pyongs.
I'd have a clustermindfuck if I went there llama. I couldn't stand all that stuff in one room.
Haven't updated in a little while. I had this little problem with the optical output on my PC being a total pile of crap! The Logitech X-540s I got on sale aren't quite as good as the floor speakers but at least they'll accept 5.1 channels with the PC analog outputs. I've got the Yamaha HDMI receiver and loudspeakers hooked up solely to that Playstation 3 over there that totally has no games whatsoever. The HDMI audio is really nice for gaming and blu-rays. All I need is a WAY bigger television to match the speaker size and I'm set!
Nice bass in the background
lawl. I had a lazy eye when I was little, but it fixed itself
That just means that you clearly didn't spend enough time being lazy.
Way to go... active person.
Says the guy who lost a shitload of weight over the course of a year plus.
Isn't it bad to live in a room with open insulation everywhere? You're like breathing in all that fiberglass dust...
Some people just don't know better
In this case, that's the only outside wall that isn't finished in this room and there is a plastic coating in front of it (you can see it in the pic if you look closely). Thanks for your concern guys, I feel so warm and fuzzy now (no, not insulation fuzzy!). An awesome aspect of the slightly-below-ground room here is that it doesn't require a lot of insulation... the concrete floor doesn't shake much with the subwoofers, though :(
I added some goodies to my collection today.

Will mod the Saturn tomorrow.
it's a tricky mod... super super tricky.
Also, fun fact... did you know there were two models of the Saturn? neither did I....
I have the Model 1 Saturn.
Love the desk. The chair looks like the one I have. Oh and Viva la Vida gets some full frontal love.
You're lefty?
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3366/image009ky.jpg
A little chaotic but after having seen some desktops here, I don't feel so bad.
Yeah, the mouse is there because I lay all funny in the chair.
Sometimes you just gotta facilitate it.
Nice looking receiver! It's always nice to know you've got some sheer awesome power supplying your sound system. Now I want to clean up my room and make it that nice.
I'm on vacation right now and all I have right now is an iPad. Insert iPad.png here :)
That pic was right after I had just set up the sound system and routed all my cables and got the chair. It'll probably never look that good again, in fact its already a mess.
Ya, its a 800wt system but it came with those wimpy little speakers. I need a better job than mowing lawns :(
I've seen prices on decent new speakers and they're WAY expensive. A better way to get bigger sound is to look through pawn shops and at yard sales. I got my loudspeakers for $60 apiece used locally. Mind you, it's good if they have a way for you to test 'em first; see if they're worth whatever the owner wants for 'em.
I just took it today... Even so, things different would be: got new speakers, using a router to have internet (no wireless), a big ass lighter :), and a different phone.
Still wish I had a 360 to set up on my desktop....
