I would be more excited about landing a rover on Titan.
But nobody cares about Titan.

Yeah man because giving scientists the THINGS THEY NEED to advance our race is a fucking crazy idea.
Note how they use normal, modern laptops once they get into space? Also note how they obviously had to survive launch and re-entry to be any use.
It's not hard to make a computer that will stand up to a little bit of tossing about, look at the Toshiba Toughbooks or any custom-built LAN case built with hardware integrity in mind. I've seen people suspend HDD's in mid air using high tension rubber-bands so they absorb some vibration and everything.
Hell, I could build you something that would work. Just give me some Intel SSD's to put in a RAID-60 array for redundancy and performance as well as passive cooling for all the components. Put them in a box with some fans on the front and back and bam, you've got yourself something that can stand up to "intense vibrations".

The laptops on the ISS are old IBM thinkpads. Not very modern per se.
Most spacecraft use (really)old tech mostly because modern stuff has been found to be difficult to harden against radiation. And contrary to popular belief you don't need a supercomputer to make simple calculations.

Are they mixing two bad things into the same pot and letting the general population drink it in? What the fuck?
When the hell did pirating become linked with terrorism? The only money they've been giving is to the people who no longer pay for music licensed by rich bastards. I know adverts use the "rule of fear" when getting their message across, but this is the worst case I've seen. Also, where's the proof? And don't say nine out of ten dentists recommend it, because that shit won't fly.

What the fuck?
You're obviously FUNDING terrorism when you download something FOR FREE off the Internet, I mean, all those hits the terrorists are getting! They must be making TENS OF DOLLARS every month!!

I'm going to assume that everyone knows that this is only likely if terrorists were actually behind any kind of file-sharing/illegal downloading websites. Which they aren't.
So there's no problem anyway.

Lol no. Of course he didn't. But it would have been funny.
It's concept art like this that makes me love Halo aesthetically.

When I see a cliff like that I always think about Truth and Reconciliation. In general it just looked like Halo as well because, well...it has color in it unlike everything else which has moved to dramatic shades of gray/some form of darker colors.

Same here. One does not play Halo for over 10 years and not recognize that area.
Theres an origional concept for T&R floating above a desert mesa drawn by Eddie Smith, but I cant find it anymore :\

I don't exactly know if you're talking about the first part to my statement or the second, but I'm going to go with "multiple beta tests for SPv3's T&R."

I'm talking of the second part. Why do you think Halo involved more earth colors over time?

Yeah, but how many of them? The only shortcuts I have on my desktop are to things that can't be added to the task bar. Otherwise its empty except for The recycle bin and a mod folder. Folders I can understand, but why shortcuts?

They are shortcuts to files in those folders! Zing.
Really anyone who isnt a power user has a million icons on their desktops. My parents nearly have the screen filled up with them, but if I delete one of them ooh god I am in for it. They dont realise you can use sub folders >_<

Re: The best pictures you've seen.
It's not that I use all of my shit, it's just that I'm too lazy to sort through all of it.
Better two clicks than a cluttered desktop. The wallpaper is there to be appreciated, not covered up like a dad covers his scantily-dressed teenage daughter.
