Your 'Y' key looks too much like 'X'
Your 'L' key looks too much like 'O'
Explain please?
Swiss keyboard layout.
Our friend Crash is a yurpeen feller.
^ he is right.
QWERTZ not QWERTY Keyboard. Sucks though if you want to program. Ever wondered what ALT GR does? I have an American keyboard as well and I think I never used ALT GR on that one.
That fucked me up so much when I lived in Germany....
Well it fucks me up writing German and not having "ÜÖÄß" :P

Pretty decent, got the new i7 930 and a EVGA GTX 480 SC. Need more RAM though.
Great cable management, I approve of this build!
If I may make a suggestion though, lots of people mount their H50's or w/e that cooler is upside-down to prevent any kind of air bubbles accumulating in the block.
Hmm, that makes sense, I'll give it a try.
Nice case ;) I have the same.
My setup so I can do school work:

Weird, I can't do shot tags from min.us.
got a new case and shizzle, heres a video :)
Wow, Thats a nice case.
:gonk: Cable management
E: What Series is that card?
hd 5850, barely fit in my mid tower lol
also as long as the cables are hooked up i could care less where they are. i did zip tie a few to keep them out of the way, but that was mostly to make room for the 5850
Ohh Sexy! SLI GTX460's? And I must say, I really like the clip in expansion bays
Those look more like GTX 285's.. amirite?

Haha, I need to make myself a glowing EL Wire helmet for LAN sessions... Actually, I might just do my headset up in El Wire.
I am thinking of doing up my case with white EL tape to look like something from Tron. It's a black monnolith right now, so I have a good template to start with.
@EX: you still have to have a way in.
What's up with the IDE cable? Tsk Tsk. Not even a rounded one either.
It's for the optical drives, I've had these ones since before there were good SATA optical drives.
Also, rounded IDE cables are much harder to work with. It's easier to just split the cable manually and bundle the extra out of the way, which is what I did. It's not split near the motherboard or actual drive connectors because there's no point for those parts of the cable, at least not the way I'm managing it right now.
You guys prob dont remeber my posts a long time ago where Freelancer got really mad and told me I wasn't the one that owned the comps. Atleast not all of them. (Lol if you remeber that..) well here is what is now mine and is my new setup:
*oldish pics but I do not believe I posted them here*

I remember you admitting to not owning them all, unless that was someone else, because I recall that person having a lolhueger television as well.
I also remember that Daniel Jackson SG-1 background stuff.
Nice iDevices man!
Got any of those Boxing day special Xbox 360 4GBs left? I still need one and I'm sure as fuck not paying over $150 for one.
Sorry Amit, no more. :(
Also, thanks InnerGoat, and Freelancer.. I implied that incorrectly. You are correct. :)
The parts I bought for my PC are coming tomorrow, so I thought i'd take it apart ahead of time.
I took the back piece off where the sound and everything goes after I took the pictures. For a computer I bought prebuilt, this does have a lot of room for rebuilding/customizing.
Hope you bought some thermal paste.
I hate those shitty proprietary backwards twisted computer case designs that some PC manufacturers have. I believe Dell has gone to a stand style ATX case now.
And why wouldn't he have thermal paste?
Yeah, I have plenty of paste. Bought a package of it when I was fixing xboxes.
The biggest thing I hate about this case is the top mounted PSU, since my PSU has some big wires.
Mod that case for better wire management. AKA cut holes in it.
I should have some new parts coming Monday, will post updates then.
Cut holes in the mobo tray so you can feed cables behind it and the other side panel. Like this:
Yours will be a bit different layout since the PSU is at the top. Cut a bit of a hole where you want to feed all hte PSU wires behind, and then cut a gap along the mobo tray edge so you can get the cables out and around to the mobo/components. Then route all your cables to the drive bays along the top or bottom edge of the case.
I can't. The way the case is built I can only open up one side of it. The left side panel is also part of the top and bottom, and it's riveted to the whole thing.
Why don't you just buy a new case? Or is money an issue?
Kind of a money issue. I spent the 300 dollars I worked for last weekend (Don't have an actual job). I also kind of like the case. When I do get more money though, i'm going to look into getting a new case.
That's got to be the worst idea ever... Why the fuck didn't they just make the mobo tray the side of the case then or eliminate the space behind it if you can't even get back there. Or make the case thinner or something.
Fail.
Since the motherboard I bought didn't fit my case, I went to an electronics store and bought an Antec 300. I'll take some pictures later. For my first complete build though, it seems like a great case.
Cable manage that shit or I'll gouge out your ovaries with a rusty spoon. And since you're a guy, I'll be at it for awhile trying to find them.
Just place all your components in, then start adding the cables you need starting with the PSU (since it's a big component that needs to go in anyways). Take both side covers off and tuck stuff behind the mobo tray and such like in my photos.
So here it is:
LOL it looks like you cable managed backwards, the rear side is pretty as hell but the front is WIRES GALORE haha. Better than it used to be at least, much cleaner.
I cant get any more behind the case, PSU wires are too short :(

Great shit right there.
Now for a shameless plug from me, now I don't know the guy running this site but he seems to know what he's doing and it's a good idea for a site. There are similar sites out there but this guy seems pretty dedicated to the site from everything I've heard. The site is called "My Rig Room" and it's dedicated to showing off your PC, complete desktop setup, etc... Anyway, in order to get his site running with a bang he's offering a free copy of Dead Space for simply signing up and participating on the site a little bit. Make a post in the Showroom or a Build Log if you've recently done some building and such *COUGH*ThePlague*cough*.
Here's the contest rules and regs:

Plague when you use min.us the pictures won't even load, don't know if anyone else is having that problem.
I see them just fine.

Have it hooked up to a 21.5" Acer 1920x1080, more for productivity and occasional movie watching than for games though (I don't feel comfortable having to turn my head to the side, away from the direction my hands are pointing in). The laptop display is already quite high res so it's good enough for me.
Buckshot, you're supposed to post a pic of your PC, not a pic of a PC of the same model as your PC, especially not one from a store page.
Then... what's the point? As I understand it, this thread is for original content in which people show off their own work on their own computer, or their desk setup. What's the point of posting a picture in this thread if it's not yours?
The point? If I was to take pictures of my laptop it would look 100% no different than in those pics I posted. Now a desktop I can understand since the outside and inside will usually not look the same as other computers and will have some unique element to it.
I may be coming from the wrong side about this, though. Do you mean to say?: "What is the point of posting a picture of something that isn't personalized?" In that case I would understand, but there are no guidelines forcing us to show some customized piece of hardware.
I personally would rather see pictures of the actual computer than any old pic off the internet. Not because it's going to look different, but just because it's putting forth effort to show off what you actually have.
I see now. Well, I thought I had mentioned that those images were placeholder until I took my own, but I forgot to write it at the bottom of my post.
A guy who lives on my floor has one of those. He loves it, except it doesn't game :(
Really? The Quaddro NVS 3100 is good enough for most games. Plays Crysis 2 with tweaks at 1024x768 around 35 FPS with my optimized config. All other games work well with some settings turned down. Trine really taxes the system, though. BC2 works good on this laptop too.
I'm not sure of his specs, but he doesn't think it will for whatever reason. Its a thinkpad, thats all I know. He says he paid like 1600 for it.
Update:
New cable management job + taking Freelancers advice on H50 mounting
Attachment 2011Attachment 2012Attachment 2013
H50 keeps my i7 930 at about 30 - 35c idle
Very clean and tidy. Seems a little empty, but the emptier the better for air flow.
Well I don't know what else to fill it with, lol
My advice is to mount the CPU block portion upside-down so the tubes are on the top, I see you flipped the radiator/fan portion.
The theory is that air will rise to the top in a liquid-solution, so putting the CPU block tubes above the block prevent any air bubbles from forming there. They form in the radiator if they do at all, which isn't a big problem.
Keep the radiator/fan portion like it is, but flip the CPU block part as well.
How about deleting Avatar altogether since it's a bad movie :v: good work on Top Gear though.
I have the completely opposite opinion on Avatar, seeing it close to 7 times in theaters and probably 20 time since in 3D and extended varieties.
Just finished copying over the last bit of Top Gear I had elsewhere... Unfortunately I've discovered that if you plan on doing RAID-5 it's pretty much required to do it with a real hardware RAID card. The "PCI SATA Controller" software RAID card I'm using (based off a Silicon Image 3114 chip) can only sustain 13MB/s write speeds, copying all my data back to this RAID is literally going to take 3-4 days. At least when I benchmarked it using HD Tune Pro it got reads up to 60MB/s which should be more than enough for streaming and such.
Oh, the burst write speed starts at about 110MB/s but degrades to 20MB/s in about 10 seconds, then it takes another 10-20 seconds for it to drop down to 13MB/s.

Also added new fans, old ones died D:
What else should I do to this thing? Planning on another GTX 480 SC once prices go down for the 4 series.
Naw, barely fitting would have it scraping against the drive bays.
I would never, ever sacrifice three slots to a GPU. Where are you supposed to put the second one? :v:
There's an 8500GT right under it lol.
Why does it need three, if you want the best cooling go water and make it only take up ONE slot...
Missed it. Thought that was something else. Also, ATi and nVidia in the same PC? For PhysX, I presume?
And other CUDA stuff. That's the only reason to do it right now that I know of.
Is that a SSD just hanging out on the bottom there? D:
That is, there's really no reason to mount them in drive bays since they have no moving parts. Lots of high-end rigs I've seen have them suspended just off the surface they're sitting on, usually by making use of some type of clear materiel under them. And they're either on the bottom of the case or on compartment tops in cases with bottom compartments separated with a horizontal "shelf".
@InnerGoat, look at my case and wiring, do that. You have a regular length PSU so you can get all your PSU wires out of the way VERY easy in the 690.
I wanted something other than the hot noisy stock cooler, and 10 dollars more compared to stock cards for that was really nice.
It's a GTX 570. Games would actually run slower if the 8500GT was used for physx :eng101:
It's screwed into the bottom where a fan used to be, but yeah SSDs can go anywhere really.
Wires are too stiff bro. When I upgrade the rest of the box I'll replace it with a Corsair that has flat cabling maybe. :haw:
corsair owns
Got stiff wires? Heatgun/hair dryer. Apply enough heat so the wires will bend where you want them to.
Nah I have no reason to. Next box will be new everything, besides the GPU and SSD so I'll make that one nice:)
I've only seen a triple slot ATI card, I hadn't realised that ASUS used the same cooler on an Nvidia board.
jw, can some 1 here help me with overclocking my striker extreme. im kinda new to it, and whenever i het to about 2.8 ghz it gets unstable for some reason, when a c2de6600 realy should be able to go much faster. alby, some help mayby, accept for gfx, we hae very similar systems.
I have a Striker Extreme, sounds to me like you're running into the same issues I had. The board is factory flawed and can't provide enough voltage to the CPU for overclocking, it sucks but I can't overclock past 3.0 GHz on my Q6600 from 2.4 GHz stock.
