I don't use Max :/
EDIT: Fixed it up a bit

Looks nice. i see only about 4 or 7 unnecessary polys.
I know there are a few, but I can't be bothered to fix them right now.
www.snowy.latenightlan.com :awesome:
Lol hope there are cookies in that tree house. Nice design.
oh you bet, there's junk food galore.
i want in! :awesome:
pool'smushroom house's closed
:smithicide:
Anyways any comments on my gravity hammer before i leave to my new years party?
Blades too fat.
^^ Lookin' good Timo, love your photo's. Wish i had your camera,
I've been working on my 50/50 SW picture, if people don't remember;
view this post from earlier in December when i first posted about it....<<< there or here
Anyway, heres the updated picture...
Remember still a W.I.P.
...Since when were the fighters that big?
The Venator Class is 1,137 meters in length while the Vulture Droid Fighters were only 3.5 meters in length.
CLUTTER
DO NOT WANT
Distance, need to mess with the shadows. But if you see the distance of the Venator's then you can see...
And it is still a WIP, just mocking it up atm.
Not Clutter, Just war...lol. I wish it was more cluttered like the opening 30seconds after the beginning title scroll of SW-EP3 but no.
The textures need alot of work.
No, thats cluttered. :(
either way I like things simple, and 13144523523 ships pointing in on one focus point disturbs me
Especially when they're all nearly the same ship. It'd look ok with maybe 2 big ones and just heaps of little ones.
That is the most awesome thing I have ever seen.
Also, if you are going to create a focal area with all of the ships' alignments, make sure that something is in that focal area. You currently have all of the lines pointing to your one open area, which really brings out the massive clutter and unwanted diorama-like feel. Make a believable (in the Star Wars sense) battle layout before you do the artistic touch-ups next time (even though most of art is proper placement and use of space).
@ first picture: the head needs work.
I disagree
zilla wtf was that from :S
no comments on my abstract?
I wonder how many times they had to shoot the backwards scene at the end to get the lipsiynking right (and him not tripping over the chickens like he allmost did :3)
also lol. :D
what did the original geometry look like?
You mean before i applied the twist and bend and stuff?
That cat is disgusting, remove it :|
No, its just dum looking.
That doe slook awsome. I would just crop out some of the black around it.
What if you made that inside part blue with a red outside.
I will give it a try :awesome:
Edit: Also i made another abstract
http://deelekgolo.deviantart.com/art/Twist-73783282
Easy to make, but pretty cool. Hard work doesn't always equal awesome, and little work doesn't always equal failure. :awesome:
My first serious pose in GMOD, Trying to show snow...but well yea, i'm not that good in Photoshop, so...well you'll see. Anywho, it's in remembrance of the snow that fell here, in the north east of england, and then melted...yesterday.... happened all in one day  But...
Basically a screenshot made from boredom and PS practice.
Bloom?
The effect when the light in the back round "over laps" the model its self. I applied bloom so the spikes on my abstracts have more of a "whisp" feel to it.
you can fake it so easy.
it's just changing 2 numbers.
tweek don't get pissed just because you have competition.
LOL. I think not, tbh. Also, remove that gross cat from your sig, ffs.
Maybe its because he is?
If someone is better than you at something, then just accept it. You're attempts at trying to seem on par, or even superior to tweek are becoming annoying.
Lmao, you make some spiral things in max by playing with the modifiers, and you think your better than tweek?
This isn't a contest anyway, but really, your projecting there, making it look like YOU who has the ego.
Also soon I will epicly contribute to this thread :awesome:
uhh no. You guys always think that tweek is the best because he made sure of it. Every time a modeler comes by you guys just go in a compare them to tweek because you think hes the best. Try seeing the REAL modelers out there.
Tweek is better than you. Remove your cat or I will see to it you go down the same road as cheatsman and hogdriver.
Actually, no. Snaf, Ross (I miss Ross, D: ), ExAm, mr roboto, Pengy, Madworkz, and a few others are really good as well. You just think that we always compare everyone to tweek. Besides, I didn't read anyone going "that looks shitty because it isn't as good as tweek." Also, I like how you fucking join out of nowhere and assume how we think and feel. Why don't you just go fucking diaf or something. No one likes arrogant asshats that think they're hot shit and go around telling everyone what they are thinking because they so obviously know.
Holy shit, you just went in the drain, buddy.
We all know tweek isnt the BEST OUT THERE, he is not the best, of course, but he's one of the best. He's the only one around here that's good, and everybody gets compared to Tweek sooner or later.
Also, co*ks.
srsly man, in my eyes i'm a noob in 3d
i consider myself an "entry level" artist.
yes, artist. (was busy writing large stuff about composition etc here, but too much, and deleted it)
i know theres so much i have to learn, and take the opportunity to pass on what i DO know to those who want to learn from me.
i'm not an awesome modeller in my mind, that's what everyone else makes of it.
so hunter, thanks for the compliment i guess. it's nice to see you think so highly of me.
i was going to post a large wall of text here, but most people here don't read em, if you post anything relevant, i'll reply with more relevancy and logic and truth. beware.
now, to put an end to this stupidity, if i recall correctly this is still the offtopic gallery, and ill post pix and you will stop the stupidity.
i got some stuff done in the week i was in detention, time well spent i recon.
ut3 map
these are actually already old images (bout a week old now) and stuff has been prettied up a bit more by now.
here's that high res car thing i started a while ago, i decided to finish it.
it's a bit of a rushjob now, but i don't really care, ill propably add more stuff when i get to the point of making the normalmap
and here's some renders of a new project i've started with dano.
a ut3 map to be, and when this one is done, you will all be mindless zombies to it's awesomeness (i hope)
(very early work, only today's progress)
it is now 2:15 am, so bai
Yeah, and what I'm about to contribute correlates with what Tweek just posted in his last 3 renders :P
Tweek how is that car supposed to turn? it looks like it can only move on one axis
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2...allbumpjp3.jpg
This is for me and Tweeks egyptian surreal thing with clockwork and stuff in it.
Still making it though, and thats just a render as allways.
Unlike usual, I'm using photo sourcing to get some of the patterns and the figures to trace in photoshop, just because I can't draw them right with a mouse. Most of the runes and symbols I drew myself, it was really only the figures of Osiris, Anubis and Amun Re that I traced, and some of the scarab beetles. I didn't use the actual photosourcings in the texture, I just traced them on the bump map.
If I had a tablet, I'd draw them by hand, because by hand that shit is easy, and I would have preferred the "made by hand" unperfect look that you get by drawing things, and havign each glyph drawn on its own so they're all the same but slightly different. But yeah. Cry more. The rest is all me.
I need to get me a fucking tablet. Would have done it in half the time. The cracks are taking lolages.
Anyway, It doesn't have any colour like this stuff because tweek doesn't want colour and only a flat sandstone look. I will however make a coloured version of it once I finish this one. It will look much prettier.
As always Dane, awesome work, although the zig-zags at the bottom seem a bit out of place. At the very least I would think they would be as cracked or more cracked than the rest of it.
what do you use to make your bump maps
Thats on papyrus, not stone, the paintings would look a little different when colored on the stone.
Also :awesome:
Lovin' the industrial revolution/egyption, its an ace style from what I see here.
His hands. Also, photoshop.
Also also, I can't rep you again so soon. D:
Tbh, it looks awesome. Never thought I'd see you making anything Egyptian, but that doesn't matter, since it's great.
Nvidia photoshop plugin normalmap generator? Another good one besides that is CrazyBump. It isn't really any more functional (aside from a few things), but it's a really neat program.
That render only uses photoshops lighting effects and the bump map as the alpha.
Otherwise to make my Normal maps and Occlusions and stuff I use CrazyBump, I use the greyscale bump map I made to create the normal map. It works far better than all these retards using a diffuse to make them.
i use crazy bumps to make some specular maps on a interior render I'm working on
Um, you don't need crazy bump tp make specular. Crazy bump is good for normals and occlusion, yes, but for specular, hell no. TO achive the best spec possible, photoshop is the go.
Also, progress on the painted version
http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/4...lpaintesm5.jpg
huh.
when did you take an interest in Egyptian paintings? at any rate, that looks pretty sweet :awesome:
Cewl :awesome:
People always underestimate me, think I'm some 1 trick pony. I could make anything I dam well wanted. Tomorrow it could be Chinese, Aztec, who knows?
I heard about your one trick pony... you sicko.
Anyways, looks pretty sweet, although I've all ways been a fan of the Japanese. So elegant, and graceful looking. Only one thing I noticed about your images is that depending on the time period of this map/plot/story the edges of the "bumps" could seem more rounded and dulled by time, even though I see you did that it still feels too sharp.
Oh well, its your drawing not mine. GJ :D
