So wheres the editing kit?
You are joking, right? Also, I just happened to be walking past one of the vending machines in my school when I noticed it was selling Dr. Pepper. I picked up a 591mL bottle for $2. So refreshing. Oh yeah, and I also got a key with it that got me the exclusive Dr. Pepper skin :P
The US skin almost looks like a faded digital flecktarn and the russian looks like...I dunno what:
The engine is much to closed-source for a practical editing kit anyway.
It's not that, it's that it wasn't designed to be modular or intuitive and as such is a PITA to work with if you don't already know what you're doing and don't have the tools. It can't be used in the same capacity as CE3, UE3, or even the old BF2 engine. CE3 and UE3 were designed from the ground up to be user-friendly.
At first I thought DICE was insulting the community by saying Frostbite 2.0 is too complicated for people to use. Hell, I'm starting to believe the thing is actually held together by tape. Maybe they intentionally made it retarded complicated so that nobody would even want to buy the engine so they could keep their deep dark secrets to themselves. /conspiracy
They just see the modding community as being a threat to profits. Why let these paying customers make their own DLC for free? Blasphemy!
To confirm, is Back to Karkand integrated with the main game, or does it function as a separate expansion like what Vietnam was to BC2? I hope they're not pulling an Activision here ($15 for four maps that have less quality than the average mod). If EA is also pushing that tactic, then I'm done with them for good on PC. I already lost faith in them for consoles with their online pass bullshit and refusal to allow split screen in their new racers.
e: Note to those planning to join an empty server to practice with aircraft - MAKE SURE IT'S NOT A RANKED SERVER.
Those deaths I had (nearly 100) while practicing all counted towards my K/D and ruined it >.< I was basically trying to imitate the stunts shown in the videos posted earlier, like flying helis under highway signs, and swooping close to the ground in a jet and immediately pulling back up. Now this being Battlefield not COD, I'm not overly concerned about my k/d as helping the team is more important, but it still sucks when your average to-date k/d goes to shit over nothing.
Have you seen the developments on Back to Karkand? I don't think a mod team even with the tools would be able to bring out such detail and beauty of the new maps. Gulf of Oman is a fucking paradise with villas and everything :-3
I'm pretty sure back to Karkand maps will be stored with BF3's core maps. Since there is no in-game menu for MP, there's no need for it to be separate. As we can all see, though, we can filter out Back to Karkand maps if we want to. So, in essence, the server system is most likely the same as BC2: Vietnam. No split communities due to servers with Back to Karkand maps on them. I seriously hope we'll be able to mix the Karkand and future expansion maps into the core playlist. All the server admin would have to do is label the server "DLC maps included" so people wouldn't get mad. That wouldn't even really be required, though, since people without DLC can just uncheck the DLC pack in the server browser and the servers with core mixed with DLC won't show up. Problem solved.
Also, I bet none of you guys have these tags :P

Dammit I want the Pirate one. It looks badass, or maybe the TRex one.
