It looks better than the original, but it isn't as polished. It wins only through sheer strength, rather than through finesse.
The only really worthwhile addition is the online co-op, which is a major one. The remastered soundtrack and graphics just don't do a very good job of keeping with the atmosphere and tone of the original, which is a big thing for me. Actually, they make it feel more similar to Halo 3 than anything else. The new graphics are pretty though, I'll give them that.

IMO, the pistol is a bit too easy to use compared to how it was in the Xbox version. More Magnetism or Autoaim maybe? I think it may be firing faster too, unfortunately.
In other words, I die a lot faster from this pistol compared to the Xbox pistol. Either way, 3sk doesn't really work well in this game for this pistol.

I haven't played any Anniversary multiplayer lately, but from what I played on the day it came out it didn't bear even the remotest resemblance to Halo 1 gameplay in any aspect.

If anything, it's made me like the needler more simply because it's turned into a shootout between 3sk Fast-Pistols. The Needler is the only thing fast enough to kill anyone in anniversary mode besides the pistol or rockets. The melee system is also shit now.
