from what i've heard about the books, he keeps introducing more and more characters making the plot more and more twisted, but rarely actually ends some.

Um, that was probably the worst finale to a tv show I have ever seen. It was so boring.

Also, I totally called that ending.

Many of the characters are just to provide information about a certain are of the world where better known characters will eventually end up.
