Re: offtopic Gallery Thread
My grand farther has the best pic i've ever seen.
he took it at a place in new Zealand over a very still pond looking up and through a valley.
because of how still the water was it is nearly impossible to determine which side of the picture is up and which is down.
not to mention weird effects that we cannot explain.
looking up through the valley you barely can see some snow capped mountains miles in the distance, where as when you look through the valley on the reflection of the water the Mountains are crystal clear.
How can you see further on a reflection then with your own eyes.
and there are some other aspects of the picture that appear only on one side.
very strange indeed. i only noticed the photo graph about 6 months ago.

That's great. An actual image would be better. :downs:

it's pretty dam old tbh, i dont have a scanner and i'm not sure if he has any negatives of it. it was taken a long long Long time ago if you get my drift.
i'll see him this weekend and i'll hunt him for some info because tbh i'd love to blow it up and frame it on my wall.

I expect the surface tension on the water creates a very slight amount of correction for the light bouncing off of it. Also, could it be possible you have the image upside down? :awesome:

you can just seen the reeds of the pond.
also i like that light bouncing idea.
Too bad i never got a chance to ask him about it today, it's his 90th birthday and the house had like 10 people in there.
