Ah, I was wondering why your macro shots were looking a bit soft. You can always get a reverse mount on the cheap and stick your 18-55 on backwards and still get pretty good sharpness. There's a video tutorial somewhere for converting an 18-55 stock lens to a reverse mounted macro with AF too.
searched around but couldn't but couldn't find said video, if you could link me to it that would be great. Is it as simple as buying the adapter or are there more steps?

Heh: This will permanently disfigure your lens, so make sure you have a spare or as long as you're absolutely SURE you will never use that type again (better to use spare)
I found this while googling "Reverse macro lens with autofocus" =D
I'm definitely going to do this.
BTW there is a easier simpler solution, but the ones I've seen does not have autofocus. Maybe there is an adapter with AF and it allows you to set aperture but I dunno.
Actually, you probably don't need to glue it, but you can take an old UV filter (or whatever filter) and glue that on to make it screwable. but then again your you removed the AF driver, doesn't need to be removable =D
Or this if you don't want to break anything:

Hmm I've only got one lens so I'm not gonna bother, although it does look neat. I may try to mount my fisheye attachment in reverse which gives a really cool motion blur like effect and will work for macro.
You could probably pick up an 18-55 pretty cheap, they only sell for $50NZD here, or less.
Bump!
Heres some random shit from the past few months, in no particular order.
