Why do people need things so big, or so small

I say it's better to start with a ridiculously high resolution so that people can make it smaller if they need to. I personally use 1920x1200. I'm using a Halo Wars wallpaper right now.

No-one makes 1440x900 wallpapers :).

Won't you be going lower? 1900x1080? that is a bit lower Dr. :)

1280 by 768. I hate having a screen height of only 768. =\
