Can't really compare against a game that's not even out yet. (or have a release date.) H2V is pretty comparable to what is currently out.

i like how they put they dont like the ending at a negative...thats very opinionative - thats like saying, OMG THE SECOND MATRIX SUCKS CUZ IT HAS A CLIFFHANGER AND THAT DISSAPOINTS ME
wow h2v is fun i really dont think it should have got this review
The netcode in H2 PC is very good and thats all that matters. H2 is multiplayer based that area of the game is solid.
The auto aim is kinda bullshit but a good pc player will still beat him. I have the game so I know.
Gamespot only reviewed it poorly because its a old port.
IMHO they reviewed 100% on the mark. I hope lightning has more fun with it than I did.
A lot of people have different opinions on a review. Some people, in school example think a 70 (C) is a fair grade, so H2v is a fair game. However, I consider a 70 as utter crap, and thats why I disagree with this review.
I wish there would be away to make it so controler users can't join certain servers. The auto aim is total bull.
When I bought HPC (to play HCE) I mostly cared about the custom maps and easy, free online play. I'm not much of a fan of online play over Xbox Live, so I don't play H2X online (not worth $50 to me). Windows Live just makes online play on the PC unnecessarily cumbersome (from what I understand), and the arbitrary differences between Silver and Gold are just a pain. I don't want to spend $50 a year on top of the original $50 for the game just for a smooth online experience I shouldn't have to pay for and did not have to pay for with HPC/CE. It's not worth my money.
Well, that's what a review is: an opinion. The problem with the ending is not that it's a cliffhanger; the problem is that the ending is lackluster and poor. I have heard constant complaints about the ending of Halo 2 since the first reviews of H2X two-and-a-half years ago. I completely agree with them about the quality of the ending (and the overall story).
Besides, an intelligent consumer wouldn't just use the bottom-line score when considering a game purchase. He would read the reviewers reasons and weigh them against his own desires in a game. If a website gave Metroid Prime 2 a low score and mentioned that it was because of its poor multiplayer, a consumer only interested in single player would just disregard the gripes about multiplayer and reinterpret the score.
Gamespot reviewed it poorly because it's a dated port. It may have been a fun PC game a few years ago, but now there are many better PC games to buy. It's flaws are more apparent and significant. It's now being compared to the many high-quality PC first-person shooters, and although it may have been great for a console game, it can't stand up when compared to other PC FPSes. I also believe the reviewers can now see Halo 2 in hindsight, and thus review it more accurately. They aren't pursuaded by the hype that surrounded H2X.
I actually think the story for H2 kicks ass. except for the heretic thing, that was just stupid :ssh:
