Official Portal Gun Thread

Kind of last notice, but I asked in the other thread if you could make it more "portal-ish". I made this in photoshop for practice, and to show you what I meant:

Couldn't you make it something like that instead? You said something about not being able to use scenery, but could you use a decal or something flat that would face away from the geometry? I'm sure you can tell I have no idea what I'm talking about, it's just a lens flare doesn't seem very "portal-ish".

I read through the older video of the Portal Gun with the plasma pistol...

1) They have their reasons to believe its fake.

it could probably be done with decals (or however blood works), but the trouble is it'd look fucking weird when shot near a corner and warps onto another wall or something :X

are you planning to opensource the tags and scripts so, that perhaps we'll see a few cool custom portal maps at a later stage?
