Looks awsome man,
with these new distortion methods im surprised someone hasnt made a Matrix combat mod yet (e.g projectiles slow rate, surrounded by a distortion effect).

Nice, on both the effects and looping.
Isnt the distortion a bitmap?

No, same method as my bubble shield. Getting it to spawn in an effect was the tricky part.
Amazing 7-wood, could you post a hi res or regular screenshot of it?
Why not just go in halo 3 and look at it there lol

I dont see the darkening effect but kudos, this looks fantastic.
One question though.
How does the distortion look from a 3rd person perspective? Wouldn't the invisible object have a different angle and therefore not have the right effect?

The first person and third person distortion effects are independent of each other.

It's not so much the angle but the location in which it spawns. That's why we're debating on keeping it in. We've been playing with some ideas to fix the problem.

Screen shakes quite a bit, I'm surprised that 7-wood can hold up to such strength.

They inject red artificial semen...
Man your stuff sucks...I love it man.
Were the other weapons in Halo 2 that were never finalized?
All I remember is flamethrower and that other handy sentinel-beam-like weapon.

While we're on the subject of cut weapons, anyone else remember the Grav Rifle from Halo? The one which looked like a car vacuum?

Yes, especially the most accurate representation of it found in H2_Zanzibar. If Bungie had put it in, I'm sure it would have been just like they made it. The way it works almost makes you forget it's using the shotgun animations.
Doesnt it always? I cant remember...
Either way, nice job.

Dude, I find myself loving everything you do but you post tiny updates.
I do rather tiny frequent updates rather than big rare updates.

Nice work on the gauge. I never really thought someone would actually put effort into a detail like that. Always love seeing your work. <3

Looking at the gauge makes me happy face. I am thinking it also has something to do with animations? That is, if the animation is different.

iirc, Halo 1 it showed the charge level, Halo 2 it showed the heat, Halo 3 it showed both.

Re: [Gallery] cad's craptacular creations
In Halo 1, the gauge doesn't turn full red when it's charged(it's still a rainbow, so to speak), and it just instantaneously goes down as soon as you fire it.
Also, why does the green lighting from the charge still remain for a few seconds after you fire it? Yes, I'm looking at the Halo 3 flag.

The overheating plasma would give off light too, once it's finished overheating the light is gone.

Whats that blue dot in the radar? It appears when your charging, but disappears when you fire.

Looks like a light behind the radar because it dissapeares when he fires because the arm covers it.

Yes, it is. When the weapon initially fires, the screen moves. When the screen moves, the radar moves with it. The dot on the radar does not.
