Oh my bad. Well I dont know how Omega's fix works. If you use it to play back to 1.00 from 1.08, I might be releasing mine in a few days. Its completed but other goodies it comes with are still under development.

It works fine with version changing.
It just fuxes up the settings.
it removes all decals and even when you switch it back to normal the decals still don't show.
I think he accidentally editing something in the strings.dll file.

Damn thats some funky stuff there. He basically edited the strings.dll to recognize his command, it then switches to his own dll and does the editing of the version and gamespy credentials etc.

Same, but since i made this video i never had that problem again (10 months ago) and i play alot of haloce. Notice the flying HUD at 1:43,2:18,3:11,etc
i got a kick otta that.

^^^ The Halo CE Update is the only way I can play Halo CE on win XP 64 bit, it won't let me play with people on 1.08 (idk why Sawnose pulled that crap when everything was fine without it)

Maybe when it's finished and official this will get updated. No reason to do it before hand.

I think it's version independent, but it works for 1.08ce for me.

works for any version, it lets u change what version of halo/hce you are running while ingame on the fly

For PC it should work for any version higher (or equal) to 1.02. For CE it should work with any version.

So it is indeed version independent.

Are there any plans to have it automatically change the version to a specified one on startup? Currently I have to type "version 1.09ce" every time I start up CE.

Would it work if I used the -exec shortcut argument?

Throw the command into your init.txt. The game automatically runs the commands in the init and should change the version automatically when you start your game up.

Working great for me. An essential download for anyone who wants to run true widescreen on v1.08 and still play on the newest servers, not like THAT OTHER VERSION.

Every time I try to run the version changer is says that my Halo 107 exe is corrupted even though I downloaded the one that Omega posted August 2008.

halo107 needs the CD in...
maybe that's why?

This error comes when you change something in the Halo 1.07 exe.

Would it be possible to add support for 1.04? Just so we can have more of a selection of servers to choose from.

Are you sure you copied both the strings.dll AND versionchanger.dll? Normally if the version changer is loaded correctly it will disable that error message.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I THINK 1.04 is as high as non-legit copies of the game go. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a good number of servers on that version.

CE had version 1.00, 1.07, 1.08 and 1.09

PC had 1.00 - 1.09 (I think? I only started playing when 1.05 was in its last days)

PC players who don't legally own the game play on 1.04, CE players play on 1.00.

I copied everything in and I have the Halo CD in my drive.

You haven't needed your CD in since the 1.08 update.

You do need it when you use the Version changer to run anything older than 1.08. I'm too lazy to mount my CD image anyway.

Goemitar's version changer has worked really well for me to access the many different versions of server software floating around.

However, recently I've discovered some servers with the version "01.00.00.0609" which is not connectable using any of the versions offered in plugin. These servers are titled "Good Ol'" (e.g. "Good Ol' Snipers+CTF+ Large Maps" @ 74.91.124.97:2302) and report to have users on them, so clearly some people run this version. Yet I can find no way to enter.

Does anyone know of a way to extend the versions offered by the plugin? I'd really like to try these out.
