I hope that's not possible on Legendary...Legendary should be impossible...y'know? that cheat for Alldev "cheat_game_difficulty_impossible" I think that was the code...anyway, The difficulty levels of gameplay should counteract with the enemies health and damage affect towards MC. Therefore, making campaign harder. I've been looking for a challenge =/

The SMG isn't fine. It renders every single enemy trivial. Accordingly, it also renderes the AR useless. There's no situation in which the AR would be preferable to the SMG.
Part of the process of balancing is giving each weapon pros and cons. The rate of fire is way too high. You can mow down everyhting like your god.
I apologize for sounding like as asshole, but all I sensed in that paragraph was stupidity.
The SMG is a short ranged weapon, its power lies in its sheer amount of bullets. The AR uses stronger bullets while retaining a medium to medium-longe range. Most players in the CE community will likely play on heroic or legendary in the CMT campaign; meaning the players will want to stay at a distance. As far as I see it, the SMG is whats useless here.
I agree, I do actually prefer the Assault Rifle over the SMG. only because of it's range capabilities, and for my name, that should show why. *cough*, Snyper. COUGH*
SMG does not suck, I find it quite useful in MANY situations, as a default weapon, I have to find good use for it and it has, it hasn't worked all the time, but it does sometimes...The SMG is the way it should be.
CMT couldn't have done better on an SMG such as the one we currently use. So stop smack talkin' it, we understand you're not used to weapon statistics such as the SMG's. But, that's what the gun was made for....to help you win, now if you don't want to kill an elite or anyone with it, I suggest you go somewhere else, cause CMT makes weapons that are USEFUL to kick the shit out of an enemy, or betraying allies (=P). The SMG and, in its own way, the Assault Rifle just so happen to be those weapons....leave this at that unless you have something that will counter this post, and lets focus on something else here.
I've always overlooked the SMG in multiplayer because i assumed it was as shit as h2.
so after reading how effective i'd been meaning to give it a go the other day.
i usually play snowgrove with AR and pistol or BRG.
so i tried the SMG with the AR. it worked allright. good close to mid-long range effectivness. i just found that the SMG was all but useless except at point blank (not my style of play) and preferable with against no shields.
in SP, the SMG was good for grunts and infectious and going toe to toe with elites. i'd be sad to see it go D:

My plan is to keep my target at a distance no matter what. If he gets close he can taste my fist and a shotgun round to the face.

The only time you go up to a Brute if if you're trying to assassinate it. (which hopefully won't be as easy as Halo 2. There, you just dodge his lunge and *smack* one dead brute.) That, or you have a shotgun and want to attempt to kill it with one. (and Brutes shouldn't have shotguns; covenant troops refused to use "filthy human weapons" even when theirs were empty. They would sooner die than use one.)

thats right...an elite won't even touch fully loaded UNSC Assault rifles at their feet. They have a rule about using "heretic" weapons. But brutes don't really care.
Like they said in Ghosts Of Onyx, "Brutes are not Elites", which means that they don't act in the same way. Therefore, they will use human weapons.
None of our brutes use human weapons. Might be intersting to have some on the flood levels use them though.
in H2 they use shotguns, which raises some semi interesting questions. where did they get shotguns? how do they pump it to reload with just one hand?
They use the other hand. However, bungie never put an animation for this in the game, so for all I know they use telekenisis or something.
And yes, Brutes using human weapons on flood levels would fit, especially The Library and 343 Guilty Spark. There would be too much of a shortage of Covie weapons to go around, with all the infected Marines around.
One suggestion, if it's possible, have the AI have to reload their weapons like you do.

AI in Halo 1 reloading, huh? I don't remember flood with rocket launchers doing that. At first they'd fire two, and when I thought I could get close enough to kill them while they reloaded, *kaboom!* and I die.
I never notice anyone reload, maybe sometimes a few sounds or something. Flood have bottomless clip+infinite ammo cheats on them (everyone knows it, don't deny). Btw, thanks for the updates Master, now I know all the stuff thats in SPv2.

One sticky should do any elite in, regardless of rank. I have yet to sticky someone and not have them die in a glorious blue explosion. Playing "Truth & Reconciliation" on Legendary, the only way to get through was to sticky every Zealot that ran at out. Unless you were insane with a plasma pistol+sniper combo.

Halo 1 or Halo 2? Halo 2 was wanked out on Legendary to the point of being ridiculous, so I wouldn't be surprised there.

Halo 1, I don't remember stickies killing Zealots in one hit. That would be stupid. In Halo 2 they didn't kill ANY elites in one hit.
Stickies killed every single Elite I ever stuck in one stick...even non-stuck lower ranked Elites died in a single plasma grenade explosion in Halo 1. I just got through playing "Truth & Reconciliation" on Legendary again, and every plasma that was stuck to a Zealots killed it.
As for Halo 2, anything below White that was stuck, was killed in one grenade (on Legendary).

The MA5b is the Halo 1 assault rifle, whereas the MA5c is the Halo 3 assault rifle.
The Ma5b was a lower-caliber, higher ROF; almost sub-machine gun variant in the MA5 series. Not really accurate.
The MA5c has a lower ROF and a higher caliber than the MA5b. It is also much more accurate. The MA5c is a little longer than the MA5b, and you can see that the barrel is a little longer. The ejection port is farther back, also illustrating its higher caliber.
*Off topic* The MA5k is another variant in the MA5 series. It's a carbine version. A carbine, I believe, is a variant with a shorter barrel, but a harder-hitting round (larger caliber). Just like the CMT has it.

The definition of "carbine" varies. It may either be a shorter version of a full size assault rifle, a semi auto version of a full sized assault rifle, or a rifle-sized weapon utilizing pistol cartridges.
And actually, the MA5B and the MA5C use the same bullet. Read the ammunition packages in Halo 1, and they will say "7.62x51mm M118A AP." Bungie stated that the MA5C also fires the 7.62mm, and the only other 7.62 rounds out there are the 7.62x39mm, 7.62x54mm Rimmed and 7.62x63mm (.30-06). The first two are Russian rounds, and the last is admirable, but obsolete (and inferior to the NATO 7.62mm).
As far as the shorter magazine, they both have the same dimensions. Bungie just waved their magic wand in Halo 1 and managed to stuff 60 7.62 NATO rounds in there.
And the ejection point would actually have to be further up, if the gun had a larger round, because the whole cartridge would be longer, and thus, the port must be bigger, and you still need room in the gun for the action to cycle.

15 rounds per second is ridiculous. Modern assault rifles only fire at about on average 800 rounds per minute, with the two most common being 600rpm and 1000rpm.

I know what it says. I am telling you that 15 rounds per second is too fast to be practical. 15 rounds per second=900 rounds per minute, which on full auto, is ridiculous using a 7.62x51mm. The modern assault rifles firing in the 1000rpm range are almost always using burst fire, not full automatic, and that is using the puny 5.56x45mm NATO.
You are forgetting that Marines are not augmented and do not wear power suits. And it is a realistic kind of sci-fi, with most aspects of it being believable.

That being said. The year is 2552. How do we know that some kind of technology has been created to make this possible. Regardless if its meant to be realistic or not, its a video game, anything is possible in a video game if the developer wishes it. Agree with it or not, thats how it is ingame. As far as your statement goes, I was posting my opinion, and how it should be realistically. I wasn't saying anything should be changed, but only that it is ridiculous. And believe it or not, there are some folks in this world who appreciate a realistic game, even if it is based in a sci-fi environment.

As far as anti-recoil would go in the MA5C, it doesn't have enough room on top for a BARS (Balanced Automatic Recoil System), since it has that computer. And in the back, all the room is taken up by the magazine and the bolt carrier, however, it might have a system that angles the recoil downwards, instead of directly against the shoulder, like the modern TDI Kriss Super V SMG.

but couldn't u just put them there for other people's use? personally i would use it to block, say a doorway or a charging hunter, just long enough to, as someone else already pointed out, reload, charge my shields, and right before it disappears, i chuck a nade, etc etc.
personally, there were numerous places where i could've used the buddle shield
also, i really want to see the phantoms in SPv2, the spirit kinda looked....well.....gay

He means exactly what he said. In halo, a biped has a limit of 2 grenade types, i believe. That would conflict with the fact that there are already 2 grenades filling those up. So, the only way to make them work would be to have them as a weapon in itself, and thats just confusing:confused2:.
Though, a game type where all you have are grenades, and you have a first person view of said grenades, would be fun. Crazy infinite grenade games...=D And grenade melee attacks. I've always wanted to melee someone with a needler grenade, and in Halo 3's case, the spike grenade. :D
Actually, it had typical Covenant plasma thrusters, but the whole ship just looked stupid in my opinion.

I thought it had alot more presence to it which made it more intimidating when you had to fight them on the second level.
CMT's Spirit drop ships with exploding Wraith cannons were a lot more intimidating. And When you have several Spirits in even regular Halo, you know you are in for it, where as in Halo 2, it was just like "All right! Line 'em up and knock 'em down!" as they exited slowly, and all in the exact same spot.
