Re: CMT Collective Information Thread
It doesn't only strip your shields, it also does damage to you, too, but it does it slower to make up for it's longer times without firing.
Basically, a squad of Jackals with these things + Legendary = KFMC (Kentucky Fried Master Chief).
It's like a Grunt, weak alone but powerful and deadly in groups.
-
Re: CMT Collective Information Thread
Not only that but how often do you find a lone jackel?
Theres at least a few more enemies around them. Also if I'm not mistaken only Majors are gonna get it (possibly all jackels in Legendary). So add a shield stripping PR. Combine that with more damaging plasma weaponry in groups and you got a roasted MC.
And for the Marines. Well you got searing hot plasma flying at your face at high speeds and a high rate. I know in the game its not supposed to stun but realistically thats gotta hurt alot.

Im excited to see how the PR plays out, along with the rest of SPv2, but I thought I saw the answer somewhere, and yet I can't find it again, so does anybody know, especially Masterz or one of the other Mods/Admins, if there is going to be a spike nade, or if its just gonna be alt fire of the Spiker or just not there. Any answer would be awesome, thank you.

Masterz said that the spike nade wont be ingame, unless he has said differently recently...

ah masterz you crush my dreams... oh well
-
Re: CMT Collective Information Thread
is there going to be any other terms for defense against enemies other than objects, allies, and our shield?....
-
Re: CMT Collective Information Thread
Honestly I don't think theres a way to add a 3rd nade. Unless you put the nade as a weapons sorta like c4 and those tatical bombs.

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions Thread
Im wondering...How will the brutes fight?
Are they a carbon copy of elites?
More aggresive/other moves?
Other?

and exactly where would i find zteam's campaign?

Its in the forum members exclusive area. You need a higher rep i believe to get in. Heres a little to help you along.
Oh, and it has to do with something from somewhere. Halo 3

Well.......guess I'm gonna need to stay on these forums for a while before I can get in there.
Either way, can you give us a hint on what that post was? :D

Until SPv2 comes out. :) You haven't answered the main question that people have been asking about it (in it's thread).

Re: CMT Collective Information Thread
I wish I could answer those questions, but you guys arn't ready.

Re: CMT Collective Information Thread

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions Thread
No, that's how they are in Halo 2. In SPv2 they are going to be smart and tough (or so CMT says).

Merging this thread with SPV2 collective info.

hehe thanks, it's still gonna take a long time though......probably after Spv2 comes out heh =*(
and yes, i compensated for your rep haloking =)

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
New pics will be posted when they're ready. I've lost count of the number of times people have said this. And the same thing goes for updates.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I'm just happy the brutes are in there. Considering all the things they added, I say the gameplay experience would go up big time. I remembered asking myself how would Halo be like if it had stuff from Halo 2....well I'll guess I'll find out soon enough!

There is no such thing as a smart AI opponent, only ones with overpowered stats.

This has been covered. It WILL run better than SPv1 did, so just relax.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Thanks. It has been fixed, I hope the entire campaign doesn't add up to 2 GB, considering all the tags and new custom stuff being modified.

My guestimate would be like 1gb max. Dont hold your breath on that though.

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I honestly don't care how much space it takes, as long as it runs smooth enough to have a good experience.:)

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
if you're screen laggin (fps too low) get a new video card, oh and i don't know if this has already been covered, but will MC have the h2 skin or h3 skin? and will it be customizable like h3 beta?
p.s. haloking, the link in your sig doesn't work anymore, upd8 it
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
The MC is going to have CMT's custom armor.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
ah......the one from the MP maps?
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I just hope the visor doesn't look quite as bad as it did in SPv1
Though seeing how far its gotten probably won't.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
yeah it kinda looked spray-painted orange in v1
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
i found a picture of the new spirit in action in this topic. if u want to add it then go ahead.

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Non-silenced SMGs ftw! I really hope the custom MC CMT skin is better than the SPv1 one, cause that one made me want to cry myself to sleep like a little school girl. Srry, Im a little behind on the news around here...
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Considering how far CMT has come it would most likely (And I mean like 99.9% certain) be updated.
If you ignored the visor the skin wasn't that bad.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Yeah, thats exactly what I thought. If only the helmet was redone, it would be pretty decent, especially the mouth rebreather part. It was also very angular, and the front almost had a flat surface ;). Oh, and the seem smacked dabbed in the middle of MC.

SPV1 was 2.07GB (under 900 MB when RARed). Since SPV2 will have more features, plus tags are filling up the limits, I can bet that SPV2 will be much larger.
I wonder if CMT would use a P2P service to distribute the final maps...torrents are legal (sadly, unscrupulous users make torrents piracy havens) and if the entire CMT team seeds...then the download would be pretty fast.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Um, no. I wont download a torrent scripted downloader just to get SPv2. Those things screw up your computer. Thats a horrible idea.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Its not totally bad, if its set up right. Ive d/l stuff by torrent before and not had any problems. Its when you use a service like Limewire, or some of the others. If someone has an ftp, and they know how to do it, then it could be a localized and controlled torrent. This could work.

Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Downloading by Torreent sucks fucking balls, tried it and everyone downloaded from me and I only got 12 kbps outta the whole damn thing. horrible idea, Scratch it and never bring it up again *bad memories*
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Torrents aren't that bad if you can get seeders. Most of the time people just download then cancel the seeding. I'm one of those rare seeders. But for a mod like this? Nah Torrents are a bad idea.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I tried utorrent for 5 minutes before. Mcafee then decided to take up 50% of my CPU's proccessing. I don't think Mcafee likes utorrent, or bitcomet for that matter. Theres no way I can have Mcafee and one of those downloaders installed sponutanuously, so I would rather have a crappy protection software than a crappy downloader.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Eh? My torrent application runs fine with Mcafee in the background......
Then again I don't like Utorrent or Bitcomet, I use Azures........
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I don't like uTorrent either.;) I'm not going to get any torrent programs.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I guess downloading SPV2 by torrent is out of the question...though if everyone in the team seeded, along with loyal fans (I know I would seed for them), the download would be amazingly fast, unless we were using 56k's.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I have no idea what a torrent is? Can someone please explain for those who are lost.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Its basically a file sharing network.
Simply put its comprised of Downloaders, Seeders, and Leechers
To put its simply, the downloaders get the file off seeders. Seeders are people who have the full file and are currently sharing it to other downloaders. Downloaders also share to other people with what they have but other people don't. Basically people are supposed to seed after they get the file but some don't. These people are called Leechers. They basically download the file just stop the torrent and don't share the file. Leechers hurt the network and if there are enough Leechers and not enough Seeders the torrent dies.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
So basically, my question was whether the CMT team would like to make a torrent available as an option (but not a required option). If everyone on the team seeded, and maybe some non team members who just wanna help, then the download would be quite fast.
I understand malware scanners and slower connections will pose problems, therefore if this option becomes available, it should not be mandatory.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I have no problem with a torrent. If we do it, anyone who volenteers to be a seeder will probably get the maps before other people.
-

Note that that's on a scale of hours, a few days at the maximum, so don't get your panties in a bunch wanting to sign up.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I'd be happy to sign up as a seeder. (Not just for the whole getting it early thing I would've seeded if it were a torrent anyway)
Sure it'll lag my internet but thats what a TV in my room with On Demand is for. :awesome:
Though your gonna need a few seeders to get the torrent going. (That and I only seed for about 10 hours a day)
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I'll sign up. It's better if I do it while leaving my desktop on overnight though (I live in the Pacific time zone if you're wondering). If you need me to do it in the daytime, I guess I'll switch to my laptop and let my desktop do the seeding.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Well, as long as it's not manditory (I was getting the idea that it was at first) then I don't care. Just as long as someone still uploads it onto the CMT download servers, or a third party site like filefront, although those sites would take even longer to get them posted...
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Mandatory or not, Ill seed. I have Azureas, a simple unclutter torrent agent, no malware, no adware, spyware, just simply an agent to do torrent. Those that may not know about it, just google it. I think youll find it to be acceptable.
In short, count me in. PM me when your ready to go.

-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
lol, i think if everyone signs up to seed then it kind of defeats the purpose. just give it out to the elite (all u upper modders that share shit and work together) and have them seed it, and then eventually itll get huge.
just release a standard torrent and skip the seeding part, itll just start trouble.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I used torrents and never really liked them...i just hope it will still be available at halomaps.org
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
They will be available on halomaps and here on h2v. But the download speeds will be considerably shorter than that of the torrent.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
True, so the point is:
For those of you who don't like the torrent idea, CMT will have "regular downloads" from this site and from halomaps.org
For those of you willing to seed for much faster download speeds, the torrent is an option. By the way, Azureus is my personal recommendation for a client. The biggest download I made was for Starcraft because some idiot lost one of my CDs and I was unable to reinstall the game on my new computer, so I had to download an ISO, and a burned copy of that ISO now resides in the Starcraft packaging since the original disc is gone.
Also note that a torrent is worthless without seeders who have decent connections. Those who are downloading the torrent will also be sharing bits of what they already have with other downloaders to boost the rate a bit. Those who have the full torrent will contribute 100% of what they have if they continue uploading.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
i would be willing to do a little seeding if 60kb/s at max. is okay :)
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
okay..we already discussed it....no torrents for this. you guys can torrent for eachother, most of us won't. End of story. (about the torrents)

He listed as many classes as he knew were in the Halo universe, and only the ones marked with asterisks will appear in the Campaign.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
The apparition was cancelled because CMT didn't want it in SPv2. Why they didn't want it, I'm not sure.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
The apparition made a good addition to the vehicles, and it was the only custom one. I really think that it should have stayed.

It just sucked. It didn't fit the covenant "feel", and wasnt all that aesthetically pleasing either. Ill draw up a vehicle and ill see if i can do a better job.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I agree that it could have looked better, but it was useful.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
To me, the apparition looked like a whale, or dolphin.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I hated the Apparition when I first saw it :V
it was a cheap ghost edit
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Personally I hated the damned thing. It was a cheap ghost edit and I always took it out first cause it was just a portable giest...............and it sucked when they just randomly used the alternate fire.............sucked as a vehicle too.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I just noticed "geist" means "ghost" in german.
Coincidence? :v
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I don't see the resemblance between a hovering bike and a stationary needler turret. :eyesroll:
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Well, isn't the Banshee basically a Ghost with wings? (with a fuel-rod gun stuck onto it's nose)
Moving on... Any chance that the Brute chopper will make it in?
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I think it was confirmed a while ago that the Chopper wouldn't be making it into Spv2.
What I'm wondering is if the sentinel laser will have its aiming fixed.......
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
^ And if the sentinel beam still looks like a gray brick in FP.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Lol even though the Sentinel beam looked bad it still pwned the flood.:D:D
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
If you could aim with the thing. I always wasted at least 5 percent everytime I shot it because the aims off center from close range. IM A CLOSE RANGE PERSON.
Oh well it was still useful against carrier forms. One click and they go boom.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
The same problem with me in CMT_Dissolution (1st version, not classic), I wasted like 5 to 9% of the battery because of the faulty aim.
Well, at least I liked the melee attack for the Sentinel Beam, it looked like if I was hitting some guy in the back with a brick.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
We have stated many times the Sentinial Beam was never ment to be part of the map. Arteen had placed it there, not knowing they were not intended for the release.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
Yes, I knew that. I liked the sentinel beam because you could strip people's shields in a few seconds and then dwindle their health level down with it or with the pistol.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
looks really good cant wait to play it looking more like halo 3 :D
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I hope something is done to make the pistol asetetically pleasing. It was always a great weapon, but the fact that its a pistol is kinda depressing.
I hope it still functions the same, but looks a tad new.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
No way, I love the CMT pistol. Esp. its origins/positioning; makes it feel like its right at your eye. The only thing I could stand for there is maybe a more booming sound.
I did like the blue/black pistol in the first batch of MP maps, but after awhile I returned to favoring the classic fashioning
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
If only an iron-sight system could be implemented into Halo; that would be a gift from Heaven.
-
Re: SPv2 Collective Questions & Information Thread
I remember Bitterbanana was working on something like that. Whether or not it's going into Yelo I don't know. It was kinda like what's in Yelo battery right now, but more direct: you press a button and the reticle disappeared and the origins move to the center of the screen so that you can sight along the rail of the gun.
