That's what I was thinking...Dano only skins. He doesn't Model.
Soon. In time i shall learn how to model or skin. I cant wait because i will have a good friend as my tooter (sorry if bad spelling).
I do both, just texturing ALOT more. I'm steadily climbing the model steps I've set myself. In time you'll see some totally wicked models from me, but not yet. Actually, I think today I might give a shot at modelling that Brute Splitter me and Haloking concepted up. Madworkz allready modelled it, but he got it all wrong :P Plus, It'd be cool for a original idea.
The reason I'm not extremely great at modelling is becasue I don't have enough time for it these days. Though, making my map has been a massive learning curve with modelling. It's all self taught, though. Same with the texture making though, but It was kind of natural for me anyway.
Also, Tenma, don't listen to what I say, stick up for yourself. If your awesome at something, show work and stuff. Put skinner back in your title. But I suggest, as I suggest to all people, you try aiming for the next step in what you do. The next step to what YOUR doing, is either learning to model well, or learning to texture. Both, are very handy, but modelling is much easier to learn. Don't think I was havin a dig at you personally. It's just that you came off as another Pred1ator, and we all know how much he failed.
yea no problem, ive taken much more worse comments than that, but the thing is that i tried modelling and skinning...
modelling just came more easier to me so modelling is much more easier to me than skinning.
but if u can gimme some tutorials i can practice skinning :)

Whoa... Is that pic from H2V? If not, that biped model should be used in SPv2, cept the legs are a bit thin. And if that pic is from the CE, where can I get that map? I know there's an official one out for H2V.

Yep, been working on it since January.
Basically, this is what it was, a few planes to test crappy textures from when I used to suck, back in January:

i see thats the spot u injected elke's tribute texture into. Looks great bro :), i dont know if she'd like it (nerdy lol) but she would deffinently appreciate the amount of effort you placed into making something in her memory.

I love the MA5C, but the end seems too squared off. Just something I thought I'd point out.

You know, Dano, the cliff textures in your first pic werent that bad. The high res textures used in the other pics tend to screw up sometimes. If you've ever played Oblivion, half of the textures consists of squares that the player can actually see. I'm not sure if I'm seeing that in your fine pieces of work, but the rocks look really grainy right now. And I think I see what Warsaw is talking about, you can see a right angle just end without a visible surface beyond it. It looks kinda weird to me, but probably won't be noticable in the pit of a battle... As for the building... Whoa.

Delta, the cliff texture in the first pic IS bad. the cliff texture and rocks in the second pick, are kind of grainy, because cliffs are made of rock. If you saw the cliffs from another angle, you'd see how good they look.

That assault rifle looks awesome....it just makes me wonder..will the other weapons be this detailed? I mean you wouldn't want just one gun look awesome and the others be mediocre.

Dane, A++ job on the skin. Looks BETTER than halo 3 IMO. Anyway, you said you were gonna start working on that splitter again. Can i get a few pics on xfire when you get a chance? Thanks.

BTW. Are you gonna make a custom Ammo Counter for The MA5C ICWS Assault Rifle?(I like saying the full name of the guns, makes me sound cool)
I say the MA5C is hardly an ICWS at all. If it were, we'd see a grenade launcher on there.
the AR wont have any stupid features, just an awesome look and feel.
Also, Haloking, the splitter is going good. I've decided to model it myself. I also designed a new covenant gun that works similarly to the biorifle on UT. Also making that too.
dano, may i ask how many new weapons there are?
None of the ones he mentioned were ones that are going to apear in spv2.

Its obviously going to have an ammo counter. Why else would there be that little plate thing there? Im pretty sure that Dane meant that it wont have a grenade launcher or a scope or anything.

Awwww. Damn. But looking at that just makes me want to by Vista and H2 just to look at its awesomeness ingame ><.
- Only the decal has to glow on the power button; anything more is just overkill.
- The intensity of the LED's on the carapace is too high, the two lights are indistinguishable. That, and their hue should have nearly the same saturation as the power button's decal.
- The barrel, carapace, and flashlight obviously have bumped textures, but the textures on the side of the rifle aren't illuminated. Can we have a side render that specifically showcases those details?
- Any fancy stuff for the flashlight? :embarrassed:
I like the ar. looks sexy, but the clip seems to extend to far
well, the flashlight has a nice texture on it, and the shine on the gun was just from the lighting. I only realy put bumpy sort of detail on the carapiece and the darker area. And the lights, I'm still tinkering with. They also are the same hue as each other, but.they don't look like it there for some reason.
I'll make some more renders soon. I'll also post the fakebumped CE version. It looks :awesome:

The assault rifle looks good, but the ROF should be a little lower so the MA5C doesn't turn into a bullet torrent.
Lol, I just wish MC held the MA5C farther from the HUD like in Halo 3, but who are we to judge the CM Team?
Those aren't the animation origins, it's just a mock-FP camera angle to demonstrate what it might look like.

In CE, of course, it will have a multi map and stuff, so it will actually look much better than that so, don't worry. Thats also at a lower res, for CE.
I don't know which I like more. The Super Awesome Shiny one. Or the Worn out more realistic looking one. Their both still :awesome:
Once we finish the new one it is up to dano to open source the old AR.

They're the exact same skin, just the CE versions render doesn't have any proper shaders, and is fakebumped. Personally I like my metal to shine, but thats just me...

oh, and I modelled in a button lever thing Doom missed when he modelled it. Added some missing details to the bump map as well.
It looks awsome, excellent work. But Im wondering are you going to release it to the public after SPv2 comes out so other Halo map designers can use it? :eyesroll:
