I wish the beam rifle were in Reach, if only to make invasion slayer less unbearable as an elite. The focus rifle is a neat weapon, but it doesn't work as a sniper rifle.

Definitely interested in some of the new additions to oddball, specifically ball passing, could make for some awesome custom gametypes... Halo 4 Football anyone? :D

Hell yeah, there is another video where they demo Grifball, specifically showing off that a sword kill on a ball carrier steals the ball and gives it to the killer, while the gravity hammer now effects the ball like it should, i.e launching the thing off like a bullet in the opposite direction.
Doesn't the focus rifle apply more force to vehicles (esp. the warthog) than the beam rifle does? Especially with a constant beam rate. Basically, with the focus rifle couldn't you fuck up someone's driving, flipping them real easily, thus raising the likelyhood that you could then grab the vehicle for yourself instead of just blowing the thing up and fucking raining turds everywhere?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. It was so shit stupid in Reach how fast that damn thing moved, impossible to kill. Thank you 343i for not being stupid like Bungie was. :golfclap:

Now that they've finally stopped talking about slayer, multiplayer sounds awesome! Vehicle balance, oddball tossing and grifball improvements are just what I want to hear.
I hate the Reach banshee so much. Fuel rod has a huge blast radius, and they can flip two seconds. And the scorpion secondary turret is actually going to be useful now too, whereas in Reach it was just a free kill for the other team.

Halo 4 has elites, unless you're referring to MP. In which case I agree. Elite bipeds could be used in custom game variants, just like how Invasion used them.

No, that's still probably Halsey as Margaret Parangosky is described to an fierce-looking, old woman in her 90's who is fragile and requires a cane to move about. Nothing about that spoiler even hints towards that. =/ Also, Halsey was 61 at the end of Halo 3 & she's no doubtedly older due to the passing years. It's perfectly reasonably for this grey-haired, lab-coated woman to be Dr. Catherine Halsey.

It's always possible that it is Halsey, but they used a different biped for the trailer to not spoil things for us. However, I would love to see Parangosky in the game, so my bet is on her.
Well, shit. I was just on the Halo wiki and I almost got major spoilered. I didn't know Glasslands for a sequel of sorts to Ghosts of Onyx. I have been waiting almost 6 years for a sequel and I had no idea it came out last year. Funny because I bought all the Halo ebooks from the Kobo website, but I didn't read most of the newer ones. I probably didn't notice Glasslands because Eric Nylund didn't write it.

Not really true. Human features change from many things, aging, stress, depression, and other psychological problems. But, AIs such as Cortana, are only based on people's brains, how they think, how smart they were, yada-yada. AIs can choose what avatar they want and change it in subtle ways as time goes on such as aging if they please, but that's not too likely. The AI BB (Black-Box) from the Glasslands book didn't even take a human shaped avatar, but was instead simply a blue cube.

Not to mention that BB changed his form in Glasslands when he put a red ribbon on himself during Parangosky's birthday, which shows that AIs can change their looks whenever they want.

I know such factors can cause physical changes, but there isn't enough shit in the fucking universe to make Halsey look like that old hag.

The only real advantage is convenience. Each new PC game I play seems to require minimum 2 hours of install, patching, tweaking, etc. Console games you just stick in the disk and you're good to go.

Gamer standpoint: cheaper than buying a top of the line PC when all you want to do is game
Developer standpoint: Fixed platform
Multiplayer standpoint: harder to cheat/mod.
Software in general will always require updating and some form of installation. Luckily, future consoles will streamline the latter.

Well, I was getting at the idea that consoles are starting to not be all the same across the board. Developers are having to work around the fact that not every Xbox has a hard drive.
I'll grant the other two, though cost is something that needs to be broken down and analyzed; it's not as simple as it seems.
Anybody else getting major cheese vibes from Forward Unto Dawn?

True, but having to engineer around every console not having a hard drive has led to things like Blam!'s near super-fast/instant level loading. It's just that not everyone puts in the effort to make an engine with long term goals in mind. It's why something like Unreal has gotten so profitable despite having glaring problems.
As for Forward Unto Dawn, it'll all depend on how good the director is. The student-soldiers are going to be hilariously bad (that's a casting AND writing problem). Visually it will probably be good as long as the director figured out how to frame armored faceless people.

Re: Halo 4, now on your xmom 360
I'm actually more worried about the sets, lighting, and generally poor cinematography. Until very recently, European television has had some shoddy production values versus the stuff that came out of Canada and the USA. Not that FUD is European, but the kind of crappy lighting and plastic sets used in shows like Doctor Who is what I'm afraid of (as much as I love Doctor Who).
Starship Troopers, which is deliberately a cheese-fest, looks like it has better qualities based on what we've seen of FUD.
Wait... people expect FUD to not be halfed assed and a quality movie?

Then you've got a problem with real life. The cyborg model starting all the way back with Halo 1 was horribly distorted from normal human proportions. This, and most of what you see with the Startan IVs from 343i are what it'd take to be able to move around in armor normally.

Shows off lots of stuff, like a Forerunner Assault Rifle and Pistol, new animation for bubble shield, Forerunner grenade, DMR now is 14 shots per mag, and a ton more. Feel free to mute it or enjoy how obnoxiously funny this guy can be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1rdfWjD5zU&feature=g-vrec

I like a lot of that stuff, a lot of those upgrades, but the only two that bother me are the Regeneration Field upgrade, which is basically a smaller Regeneration equipment we saw in Halo 3, but in ability form, and the Explosives support upgrade, which basically makes one's grenades stronger and gives the user better defense against grenades.
