This is my very first logo I made as an introduction for future videos I make. Tell me what you all think about it. I used GIMP to create it.
My advice, don't use an intro longer than about 2-3 seconds. People can already see whose channel they're on, and it's just more clutter before the meat of the video. People have short attention spans.
Regarding the design, it's a bit too flashy and busy for what it is. Keep it simple, easy on the eyes. Go for interesting and readable, not cool for the sake of cool. Simple forms. Simple color scheme. This is something to be viewed quickly, not closely inspected. Also, the lens flare on the upper left draws the eye up there the second it sees it. There's nothing up there but that flare, and it's visually confusing. The eye should be drawn to your logo, not some random lens flare.
